I was thinking about Flash grenades, could be useful for evading PK'z and or good PvP thing. When grenade explodes the screen could turn black for a few seconds or and/or could affect perception and Guns skills.
EDIT:
High skill should be needed for this so that thrower don't blind himself.So saying this game gets balanced too this could be useful for snipers and big gunners.
EDIT2: It's not that there needs to be black screen you can blind status and have 1 perception like you guy's said in some reply's bellow.

But what about TB combat? Black screen for whole turn is too harsh.

I would give it a Try, but what Chrupek said is true. Maybe 60% Harder than 100%?
I mean for all Turns till the Person who had first the Sight-Lower is again in Turn. Also Everyone has like -10% to -20% chance to hit.

It could affect player for a period of time like 1 minute or a bit more like decrease perception and/or skills.

Affecting perception severely is pretty good, it would make the guy miss most of the time. Also they could have large radius of impact

abusable... grenadier in real time throws at bunch of guys a flashbang, all get blind, he throws frag/plasma nades till they die, and if they dont after black(or white) screen, they get another dose of flashbang...

Have you ever heard about action points ? :) Also, they can still move and shoot while blinded.

If we forget black sreen and only a temporary blinded status, it would still be effective.
Like 10 seconds of blindness (without making the guy be knocked out or down)
It could help :
- A low level character, to escape
- A sentry to make his group invisible for a short moment.
- Force the ennemies to distance themselves from each other, for the time they need to kill that guy.

okay, they get black screen, they can still move? but whats the point to move if the grenade can still hit you, throwing does use AP, but it can regenerate while everyone is blinded. nuff said... but if there wont be black screen effect, but just a "Blinded" with no damage but "lose few APs" effects would be worth a try.

A blindness status sounds good. This would have to wait until turn-based statuses worked though. And then maybe sunglasses and some helmets could provide resistance to it. Blanking the whole screen is too much IMO. -PE sounds appropriate, maybe even with varying degrees based on distance from the explosion and facing direction.

We need jail to be implemented more thoroughly. Things like suicide bombing, murder, and flash grenading if it comes into play. Staying online would equal serving sentences, which would be excessively long, and doing tedious work to prove you're online would reduce them.

serving time for misdeeds in guarded towns has probably been suggested or mentioned before, i recall giving an example or two in such threads but i dont know whether they were taken seriously or just brushed under the carpet. If you do mean something like the jail system in which you are unable to log out of then i suppose that is a different story otherwise all i see is alt no.21894241 and so on to annoy people in guarded towns.

I wonder if there's anyway to connect flashbang to FOV... Of course this way it would take alot of other combat mechanics to make even useable.
It's a "decent" but "Run-of-the-mill" idea that will prolly get rejected.

yeah i was thinking you arent necessarily going to throw the flashbang into your opponents face just to set it off, you would just throw it within their fov so question then is what needs to be done to make it happen.

Aye, it's been suggested to make it possible to throw and shoot explosive type weapons on hexes without the need for a specific target such as a critter, Devs haven't given us a Clear-cut answer if I remember correctly so it is a possibly but a probably not.

I never said there need's to be a black screen I was just suggesting. You could get blind status.

how about if you are hited by a flash bang you will have the 1 PE status for 10 seconds and you can't run
this will balance the game a bit

You don't need eyes to run...
(only to control your running)

okay, someone throws a flashbang at you, you cant see shit... would you run god knows where? no, because you dont want to end up being hit hard when running at pole/wall/car/etc. walking hasnt that self-damaging speed.. uhh, know what i mean? duh

realistically you would be stunned (disoriented too? im mean its not just the flash that gets you) by having your senses overwhelmed (correct me if im wrong because im no expert in these things).

Brain works alot like computer when it comes to information income vs quality.
So yes, overuse of the senses can cause your brain to "lag".

The victim of flash bang should be able to move, we dont want some "stunlock" abuses, where some pr0 pvp apes are flashed to death by some tribals. PE to 1 is enough, it would reduce your FOV and makes you hitting something very challenging. We dont want these flash bangs as a new assault weapon, just an escape mechanism

Id rather see sight radius reduced cuz it can work in RT and TB. Decreasing PE would be ridiculous. Id throw one at 5 guys with avengers then finish them off with other nades or mutie party

There to be a chance the grenade to explode in your hand if you have poor throw skill

I think it would be best to have it reduce the hit-chance (nothing overly ridiculous) and FOV (maybe 2-12 hexes), even maybe perception(for a set low amount like 1-2) and have more effect the closer it is to the character(FOV 2-12 hexes) but not have an effect if out of range like 5 hexes away.
