I believe it's called dusk now, i was hoping it would be similar to a van buren made by regular joes but from the interview it doesn't sound like it.

And i wanted to complete Van Buren, but i dont have any scripting and game-making skills... after all, i'm just 14.

Yeah I know what you mean. I started making my own Fallout 3 years back now but then it turned out I can't script, model, texture, write...

After all, I'm only 22 :D

You're not going to accomplish anything thinking like that. It doesn't matter. Actually, it's the best time to start learning, it will be only harder in the future  ;)

I know, i know. You remind me my parents ;)
However, i'm very interested into scripting and thing like that. I'm a programmer wannabe ;)
My first thing will be complenting Van Buren, if i ever get able to. Actually i know enough 'bout the story and how it was goin' ta be. The Vault Wiki is very helpful.

Van Buren is still open or it must be hacked or something to continue it? Why anyone try make 3D FOnline (camera style like Postworld)?

Last time I checked, Postworld used the CryEngine. Also the game isn't very new, but also not that old. It was meaned to be a Fallout game first, but I think they changed the plans.

Van Buren never was open in any kind of way.

So, Grommok you can't continue Van Buren in the future. I'm interested in Postworld but I don't know what progress is it.

Damn. But after all Fallout 2 wanst open too, however you can find lots of mods and stuff like em. And probably, if i ever will, i will use a different engine (with same characteristics) so that i will just have to rip off the models and item icons, and this will mean that i will have to start from scratch. DAmn. Lets hope that Interplay (former Black Isle) buys back Fallout and then completes Fallout 3. It's our only TRUE hope to see the game as it was intended. :'(

Fallout 2 is not open. Lots of stuff is hardcoded and can only be changed with hacks.

It's what i said. Wait, i havent told a single word 'bout hacks. So, killap hijacked fallout 2? Dirty work for a great cause, if i can say what i think 'bout that stuff mon.

Lexx what stuff is hardcodet example?

SPECIAL system, all interfaces, screen resolution, the way new proto objects have to be added (item is always item and has to be in item folder,...) and so on. It's easier to ask "what is not hardcoded."

But we can change screen resolution, interfaces. What is wrong with it?

You can change appearance of interface but not its functionality (if you don't want to write it from scratch).

You can only change the graphics. Without mods and hacks like Sfall and other dll injections, changing the games resolution and doing other fancy stuff is not possible in Fallout 2 (Fallout 1 is even more hardcoded than 2 and there aren't many modding tools).

Uh yeah Unity is a good engine I worked with it a few times. You can make awesome games with it.But is buggy too.
