Title: Crafting system

Current crafting system is not bad, but i suggest it to make more realistic and balanced. Crafters shouldn't need to know how to use weapons, repair/science skill would be enough and patterns, schematics, books.

Schematics system is based on buyable patterns, papers, little books and other that privdes you informations about crafing. Repair skill is your mechanical knowledge about guns, when Science is base for more mathematical skills like gunpowders, scopes, batteries etc, so crafting flamer shouldn't be challenge for skilled auto mechanic but making a scope for sniper rifle should show his lack of physics skills.

Other reason to change crafting system is:

"hey, i wanna make a drugs and stimpacks, let's make a char able to pvp and craft. Hmm, sg burster looks fine, it do not require much sg skills%, so ill put rest points in doc and first aid. Oh shit, 9 IN need, ok, I'll make just an alt."

Flamer
-40 repair

Improved Flamer - improving dmg will not make it more usable, it's still weapon for exping. I suggest to fix range to 7 hexes

Buffout&Mentats&Jet

As u see, no cap for levels of profession and no SPECIAL requiments. Patterns can be replaced with learning schemats from npc.

Indeed, blueprints. Requirements for profesions are much lower too (with no special requirements at all)

Yes, but only 2 level of prof available (the third is blueprints), so you can have 2 profession maxed.

I guess eventually, when lots more quests are attached to getting the profs and blueprints, some poor soul might want to try and get everything on one char. Crazy supposed people.

I guess he is talking about the specials workbenchs where you will be able to craft tier 3 stuff, and only there, to get more interaction with players.

You will find great interaction with thiefs, bombers and SMG bursters.

It won't be protected, so I kinda hope some interaction with big gangs, organized PKs, and fights with avengers, BA, plasma rifles and DKS to get access to... Avengers, BA, plasma rifles and DKS   :D

Hey, maybe some of the big gangs will "protect" some areas in exchange for payment, there will be deals between gang controlling different area... This can be cool. Though I expect more whine, troll, random and senseless PK and insults than RP.

HQ mines aren't protected and I don't remember too many interesting gang fights in mines. It is rather place for lonely PK.

It's because you don't bring anything of value to mine, but if you go there to get tier 3 equipement instead of low value minerals, it become much more interesting, everyone will have to get there especially big gang, which will bring fighters to protect the crafting. Also, even though it was low quality stuff, I remember many battles against gangs of PKs there.

I'm afraid that one gang will dominate that arena and block access to craft 3rd lvl weapons.

One gang won't be able to control all the places where they get access to their high stuff, so they will to have to make deals to obtain it. For example, CS own the place for crafting avenger, and TTTLA for the Brotherhood armors. The gangs will maybe trade, stuff on the access to the place. If foe TTTLA let people go craft but not ennemies factions, CS will have to do the same and exchange with people crafting BA at TTTLA's place by giving them access to their place where they craft avenger against some BA. It can be cool.
