Title: Character selection
Post by: Bison on May 31, 2011, 01:04:39 am
I'd personally like to see more character selection types, if we can go back to the days of fallout tactics you could choose human characters and ghoul characters.. you could even choose a dog which is useless but hilarious none the less. Anyways the ghoul option is what i am suggesting. They are dirty barbaric creatures, just like me.. hence they are perfect for the wastelands don't you agree?

Until your sad due to the fact you can't wear armors, you may not be able to run/wield weapons that you want. Something like this would require 3d.

Well they worked fine on FOT and had Armors, but your right this isn't FOT based.

Once we have 3d it becomes a possibility. Until then it won't happen.

or probably if in a miracules mode a dev from NMA makes mutants and ghoul armors and all weapons so we can play as any race we whant

but since this is less likely to occure, we must w8 for 3D

The ghouls won't need to run or wield all weapon.

They just need some perks or traits that compensate their weakness.
(more hp, better healing rate, 15 perception, whathever)

Anyway, even playing an unarmed brahmin with 35 hp could be good for RP... :P

(i don't wan't Tactics 3rd models...)

Although I am a huge Ghoul fan I agree with the rest here that we'll have to wit for 3D. RP wise I could just see it happening but for anything else such as PVP or PVE playing as a Ghoul or a Supermutant just wouldn't be worth it.

I suppose it would be fair enough having a lvl 21 Super Mutant with 600 hp and can only wield bgs but imagine him versus a human sniper? Or hell even if a blue suit cripples an arm. He'd be weaponless and moving about as quickly as a Frenchman next door to a brothel.

To compensate, a ghoul can have a range that is unreachable by human sniper.

Mutant can have terminator and resist critics. (and have lot less chances to be crippled)

I don't feel right to make these chars run, wield all weapon and have skins unfalloutish.

I don't say it is better for everyone to keep them unable to run. Just that making them run is not nessecary needed to have them as characters.

Unless a gun that only these races can use that is longer range than Sniper rifle or gauss pistol then there is no point.  They will just shoot run shoot run shoot run, no chance.

They're not dirty barbarians. Only feral ones are. Most of the "normals" are very kind guys. See Harold (even if he is not a ghoul)

THERE ARE NO FERAL GHOULS! BETHESDA BE DAMNED! joke. But you're right though they are just normal guys who've been dealt a raw hand. Personally I thought some of the best humour from Fallout 1 and 2 came from the Ghouls, they were just so damn sarcastic! :D

Hey, i've played all the "classic" fallouts (1-2-Tactics and Van Buren [Fallout 3, the TRUE ONE] Tech Demo) and with feral ghoul i mean the "mad" ones, not Eddie The Head from bethesda.

Damned Bethesda. They ruined forever something special with Fallout 3. They even forced me to kill Harold... damned Bethesda.
