This way people will still get loot from killing and if you die in CA you don't have to spend 2 days making a new one.

would be sweeter with 5 items though... on account for the ammo and the potential trade goods, ex. you've been hunting geckos near gecko, you've just managed to kill off a mob of them, on your way back you run into another player wighting a mob of geckos, the player turns his attantion to you and crits you in the eyes with a sniper, you lose all those pelts as though they never existed, happens to me all the time i try to get pelts.

You can store items in caves, tents, bases, outposts, even in rented rooms i guess.

It would encourage people to gear up when going on bussiness trips at unsafe towns. But then again... wasteland is harsh. Besides it would make mindless pkillers even stronger because they'd hang around with their best stuff equipped without fear of losing them. Only peaceful traders would lose stuff because pkillers would just have their fighting gear.

how about it only happens when you get killed by an npc in an encounter, players are a pain in the ass but last time i tried to get back i managed to take a sniper bullet to the eyes only to be ambushed by one raider in the next encounter and die miserable because of eye damage (after i did FA and was at full health, the sequence is just fucked up if you have eye damage (2 lol))Maybe the sequence should be tied to agility intelligence and perception...

If you would never lose your armor or weapons when you die, everyone would walk in CA/BA sooner or later. And it's not how the Fallout world looked like as far as I remember...

You misunderstood, only items that aren't equipped would drop. This would benefit non pkers the most because they are the ones that don't have the resources to make gear quickly, pkers are always well equipped but non combat chars don't use good gear because they'd just lose it.

So in the midst of a fire-fight you equip your best items and then die freely? What if you only have what is equipped? It's still dumb fucking idea. Full loot = good.

I'd like to see in game a luck-based possibility of getting some random inventory item from your inventory. (except weapons)
After being killed in a non-human random encounter, you awake in a hospital and you MAYBE get your CA back.
Or stimpaks, ammo, whatever.

Nooo the chance of looting a rare item on a corpse is one of the reason I joined this game. Wasteland is a harsh place and it should stay that way.

yeah, but the npc encounters would hardly be able to use the loot or sell it or have it taken from them forcefully (i once had a dog, yes a dog loot my brand new combat shotgun, don't even ask), so you may have to be able to protect your most valuable items from such npc looting.

Omg, don't be so weak. I just lost everything I crafted whole day (and getting resources other day). Yes, I lost 2 days of playing. But it doesn't mean that I will create new topic called "Oh please, make something to restore all my items if I die". Yes, it's very very painfuly and sad.
Go and play other MMORPG then, where you see everyone with best equipment and only noobs, who even carry best equipmet for thier level. Most weapons and armors will become useless. This game become like others, i mean sux.

Rocket/plasma critical and nobody gonna take your armor :P

Items that disappeared with you dying would reduce the amount of item saturation in FOnline world, but reduce fun for people who pvp. Maybe a middle ground? Like someone mentioned one item, only dropping a single random on death and having the rest destroyed.

I like this idea. A random percentage of stuff is destroyed depending on, perhaps, the attacker's luck?

What's the point of using these items if they make you more of a target? If you lose them its a huge pain in the ass to replace.

I personally don't like this idea. If you die, you die. Storing supplies pre-hand works for me, and I never carry too much valuable stuff at one time.

In the wasteland it is a damn struggle to survive, not some weak ass shit where you keep your items when you die.

Wasteland is harsh is not a goddamn mantra to build a game on. Everything is so fucking painfully boring between the cooldowns and low xp there have to be concessions or it will be a shitty game. Yes scraping out an existence in a barren wasteland would be boring and horrible but is that what you want to experience?

No, but this is not one of the concessions that needs to be made.
It has very little to do with "cooldowns and low xp", offers no logical explanation of how something such as this would occur in the fallout world, and goes against the very nature of the game and what it stands for.

Logical explanations? How logical is it you show up naked halfway across the country every time you die. If gear is such a pain in the ass to get it should last. Maybe just the armour would stay.

would actually make armor usable in the time we live in, everyone just use the bluesuit when going hunting and mining, the only people that actually use armour are people who are in a gang and know they can get more any time, even if they die
