I figure it probably means "Damage Adjustment" but I've never sorted out how it actually effects game play. What do the Damage AdJ stat actually mean and do?
Here, for illustrative effect as to what I'm asking about, just in case there's confusion I'll C&P some of the ammo descriptions and bold and underline the line I'm wondering about:
.44
Caliber .44 cal
AC modifier 0
DR modifier 50
Damage adj 3/1
Weight 22 grams
Base price 8 caps
HN Needler Cartridges
Caliber HN needler
AC modifier -10
DR modifier 0
Damage adj 1/1
Weight 15 grams
Base price 8 caps
7.62 NATO
Caliber 7.62mm
AC modifier -5
DR modifier -10
Damage adj 12/10
Weight 22 grams
Base price 12 caps
There, hopefully someone knows. Basically... I can't figure out what that line actually means in terms of the mechanics and the wiki doesn't seem to detail it anywhere so I've got to wonder... What the heck does it do/mean? How does it effect the round's performance in game mechanical terms? It's the only line in the description that's not really clear on its function (mostly because the stat doesn't seem to be explained anywhere).
Thanks in advance.

If your weapon make 10-20 dmg, and the ammo have a dmg mod of 3/2, your weapon when firing these bullets will have a damage of 15-30.
If your weapon have 10-15, and the ammo 2/1 dmg mod, the damage will be 20-30
It's as simple as that.

And how does DR Modifier work exactly?

Your DR reduce damage you receive (with 30% DR you receive 30% less damage). The DR mod of ammo raise or lower ennemie's DR. For exemple, 5mm AP ammo have -35% DR mod, so if your ennemy have 50% DR, against this ammo the damage he receive will be lowered only of 15%. On contrary, if you shot him with 5mm JHP ammo, he will receive +35% DR, and he will receive 85% less damage.

So that's why .44 and finnese is almost useless!

Ok then i have question if its any cap to DR resist? (I mean in less than 0 like jet effect)

The min DR is 0. The max DR you can get through armor, perks and drugs is 90, though in damage calculation, it's 100%.

You can get -DR resist after Jet. But i guess you mean calculating for ammo

You can't get negative DR. You will have malus, but if you have 0 DR and take jet, you will stay at 0. If you take a leather jacket, with the malus, you will stay at 0.

Yea you got right i check it. I just dont have jet character and probably suggest from FO calculators or other things. Thanks for help ;)

Does this means that a critical hit with .44 JHP can be quite devastating?

Yep, with bypass, it can be quite killer shot.
