Hello Ive been playing for a wile now and ive noticed with the radio system and everything i have a idea!

Channal 911 (WPD) i have a radio on at all times and in my camp got one tuned to that staton

Looking for Police Members

1) Officer Jill

(call on radio to apply or apply here.)

The motto : If someone in the wastes needs help call us on "911" and we will come help you!

Maby this will help police the wastes Better :)

As a roleplay it would give reason for all officers to be issued the standard revolver or with the speedloader attachment, uniform may be decided amongst yourselves. Shotguns optional, may be an idea to keep a heavily armed squadron a last resort so that you arent set up for an ambush all the time if you are simply coming in as light support.

This could work, just like any ant-pk effort could work, but it will require 1) manpower and 2) structure to support said manpower.   Nooblets usually do not have the support required to deal with the constant bullshit that this game entails.  Maybe she does and if so, I hope she has fun doing said things.

Tip: Have several friend scouts and battle with light and cheap gear.  Probably the best en-masse noob army is snipers. Snipers everywhere! You could all have crappy builds of hybrids, but if you are at least crit-builds, then you can just swarm with crits. If you die, no loss, while still trying to help.  Anyway, good luck Jill person, hope you are enjoying yourself. Might even turn my radios to said channels, but just like myself, expect shitloads of grief to come at you for your good Samaritan efforts.

Did not mean you specifically, and I am also a rather inebriated, so pardon any miscommunication.  Meant nooblets in general who seem to come up with these odd and grand ideas here on the forum.  The ideas are plentiful, but the gameplay ingame is rather discouraging and, dare I say it, depressing more often than not.

Galting is 100% right. However nothing stops you from trying, at least to have fun. Like Gatling said, small guns crippler builds are your best option (10 luck, Finesse, Better Criticals, 3xMore Critical). You could make a shared tent with all your partners and start gathering cheap guns (I don't recommend Shotguns since shoot-twice-and-reload is not so good for PvP in real time). Try organizing quick trading operations with NPC gun merchants with 1 Charisma requirement (try New Adytum, Gecko, New Reno, see here (http://www.fo2238.fodev.net/wiki/Merchants) - although New Reno might be dangerous), you can simply craft and sell BB's from Junk in nearby urban areas, which will make guns almost free. Or just craft a shitload of BB guns and BB ammo, which can still cripple your enemies, and can be crafted even by powerbuilds. Either way do some patrols around the wasteland, wearing no armor. Yeah, one could say this would be almost like trolling, but the cause is just!

The only problem I see with all this, is when you actually go the where a distress call has been sent from, and you have to know who's the PK and who's the victim shooting in self defense. But if you stick to the NCR area, this will tend to be not so difficult to know I guess.

Also, bluesuit + BB gun guys might not exactly look like members of a Police Department, but rather some sort of weak and cheap guerrilla. But well you can't have everything :P

As far as I remember the radio channel "911" is used by another project named "Wasteland Wildlife Protectors", so since using same frequency for two projects is a little bit complicated, I suggest to contact with the WWP lead persons to solve this issue somehow.

the 911 frequency is used by the WWP for exactly this kind of purpose and I don't think any one will mind a few more vigilantes using it for the same reason

I don't want to set the world thread on fire, but the members of this Police Department could talk to the WWP about joining their RP project, and act as a patrol in the area surrounding Redding. They wouldn't need to be pr0 pwnzors with uber weapons, just a patrol.

To any possible troll and/or flamer: I am not ordering these people to join WWP or die, just suggesting the idea, nobody will get mad if they freely choose not to join.

Im trying to keep this alive. Im actually gathering stuff, doing escort missions and looking for people. grab a gun and a radio and report your presence on channel 911 if you're interested. if we're enough in one week or two, i might try to organize something bigger with irc channel,  patrols, cars and some crafters/traders/leaders. I'd like some feedback from wwp, officer jill or anyone else here.

The Rule is mainly Protect and Serve. Escorting low levels when they need to travel, trying to punch away stealers before they suceed when off-duty, guarding some mine an hour or two or trying to help people stuck in encounters.

Plus any PK could connect to frequence 911, find some defenseless poor bluesuit and this former "protect and serve" channel will become a sort of... PK helper?

thats why im patrolling with LA mk2 and laser rifle, instakill doesn't care how much costs your armor ^^

im actually trying to gather enough people to make something really big after the wipe. i'd like to know who wants to be a cop and who wants to help. just send me a pm if you're interested.

@Grommok : if you think im trying to save people from pk TB traps, there's something you don't understand about this game. chances that someone falling in TB trap has a radio, call the 911, and there's a patrol of 2 or 3 men near are really small. It would need at least 30 people online everytime. If we manage to secure v15, NR and NCR surroundings, and escort traders/leaders/low levels,  that will be a big improvement already ^^

BTW the 911 channel is usually trolled by 4 players from old rogues, looking for TB battles around NCR and the Hub, making fake distresses and such. I think Rascal was one of them, can't remember rest of names.

1) Wipe is when server gets updated, in going this, however, all player infos are deleted, that means that all chars and cars and so are lost.

Watch this thread after the wipe, if the project picks up then it will probably get mentioned here. Other than that try to conceptualize a good "policeman" character for next season.

a project like this will absolutely need a recon sneak team for investigating distress signals.

Its probably more realistic to simply set up APK traps (I assume thats who you are going for?) and wait for known 'violators' or patrol with an outdoorsman leader for for these people in encounters.

Alternatively you could organize escort services from towns for rookies.

obviously this will be a lot of work and I will be impressed if it works out but I would love to see people at least try. I have my own post-wipe project planned but if this gets organized I will help out during my spare time.

1. About that traps, I would like to have an option to see the encounter before entering it, like in the towns. That would mean to implement this feature by developers. I would like to check FOnline SDK, if I could implement such a thing, but the question is, if I manage to implement it, would it be integrated into the 2238? (Well, question to some game DEV)
2. It would be nice, if WPD had its own location on the map. So, if I create a map using the tool provided, could the location be integrated into the 2238?

1. Think about how that would work a bit more and if you still feel it necessary post in suggestions.
You could mess around with SDK but no, it would not mean anything you do gets implemented into 2238.
