Title: [clientside] mark worldmap square
Post by: Haterade on April 18, 2011, 02:50:31 am
so that you can "remember" what square is what for (for example, mark where usually people are active (PK purpose)), or where are mutated molerats... no need to remember, just mark away. (when you mark square, youre able to add limited text as description, ONLY latin (if other alphabets can cause problems))

example:

edit: ok my basic guess how it would work.... to mark square, you have to be IN it at worldmap..... and type something like /mark [text] or .mark [text] (/unmark or .unmark to insantly delete it)

Good suggestion.

And if any one says this would be too much of an advantage... players can already do this by saving information on a text document / paper, so it would only make it less of a hassle.

Nice idea, especially for people who would rather not roleplay the bookkeeping aspect.

Writing coordinates down on an piece of paper, or just remembering where the mutated molerats are, is something that makes a game "inaccessible", pandering to masochistic "Olde Skoole" simulationists.

Every character is assumed to have a non-lootable "PIPBOY", which presumably would have the ability to add map notes.

So the suggestion should be implemented.

I've always wanted the ability to make ingame text notes on my pipboy - just a simple text editor with separate files.

Something like in Torment or other IE games to press notes on the map, yeah.
