Title: Killed in guarded town
Post by: Puckk on April 09, 2011, 08:33:25 am
Hello everyone  :D
Just started playing Fonline and I'm loving it so far.  Although, I was recently killed in Vault city courtyard, and I was under the impression that it is a guarded city.  I am brand new and lost very little, so I'm not ranting or angry about it.  But I would like to know how this could have happened, so i can avoid it in the future.  Does the Courtyard not count?  Or is this some kind of bug?

It was a player.  He first stole all my caps, so then i chased em into the street.  After that, the player just started punching me.  Since I assumed the guards would do something, i didn't fight back.  Alas, they didn't, and the player looted my body, then the guard looted what was left xD

there are various situations that are exploitable. For example, blocking path to building, and killing someone inside the building. So i think it was one of these cases.

Ah, yes, he probably mistook that theiving was ok there because of what happened.

No, people with high steal can steal and not been noticed, which keeps them guarded like a normal citizen(like you).  If a guard or yourself notices, guards have float text saying such, and that means they are killable.  Don't stand still and when trading, if you don't have transparent barter/dialog box, then keep it to one side with your and the trader in view on the opposing side of the screen. When trading, or anywhere with stuff that can be stolen (anything not in your hands), be aware of thieves as they love protected cities.
