Ok so I was just checking stuff out in my tent and next thing I know I am in this prison tripping balls having NO IDEA what is going on and I can't leave, Then this dude comes out of nowhere and says I'm in here for having an Offensive Name (my name was "Fuck Russia") I dont actually hate russians or have anything against them I just thought it was a funny taunting name ;)
So the guy tells me to change my name or make a new character and when I asked if he was a GM he just said "Nope just some guy passing through" and he vanished. Well now what?, I'm trapped in here, I have no problem deleting my character but there is no option to do that, I can't change my name either as much as I would like to.
Also Making a new character isnt an option the game has a glitch where you cant sign out if you are indoors or something, When I try and sign in my new account it just says "wait 10 minutes" after 30 mins of waiting I had a shower and ate and it still says that, I looked it up on google and thats where I learned the glitch that you wont actually sign out if you are indoors so you need to go to world map or outside or something, Which I can't do because I'm trapped.
I would reinstall the game but honestly I cant see how that would change anything, Same account, Same Computer.
What do I do? I just started playing this game lastnight and I really love it now I'm trapped.

Type that in, although, i don't think it'll make a difference, your in "Prison" which means you can't log out. And if you can't log out, you can't delete your character. so...

I can't see any way to do this unless a person can delete my character from the servers, I need to contact a GM or something.
... that guy who came in my cell I'm pretty much just standing and waiting for him to show up again. I think he was a ghost. Even if someone kills me that would work (This game really needs an option to suicide)

I heard there were many large tough ruskies who don't take kindly to newbies. So I went with the high road and chose an offensive name to taunt them with while I run away from many laser shots. I had no idea I would be jailed for having such a name.
I did the delete character thing but no dice, I am still alive and in jail. Gonna try talking to a GM.

Maybe some GM/dev got butthurt. You should post the picture of you in prison with your nickname visible and write "U mad GM?" underneath.

Ugh, how I hate jailings and bans like this. I personally see no problem with a name like "Fuck Russia" as opposed to "IFuckYerMum" or "BabyRapist". but really, something like Fuck Russia...? Come on, it's obviously just a joke if he's playing normally and not just sitting around ncr with a dick for a nose.

Just to clarify I was not trolling or anything I played since all of last night and all day today, I managed to get a tent and when I was putting things in my stash I alt tabbed to check on something then I came back in jail!, I was doing nothing wrong and I had no idea it was against the rules to have offensive names
I understand it was not the best choice in a name, I thought it was pretty funny myself, I think I am obviously not being seriously racist. Just a cocky taunting prick :D ... which I thought was encouraged.
Does anyone know if reinstalling the game will do anything?, I'm willing to try anything at this point, I was planning to play this game straight for the next few months with my friends they are all level 3 now and I am stuck and need to start from rags again :(

I think this is the only game that simulates prison life near perfectly... There is a rat in the sink and I am expecting sodomy soon. I also feel helpless and bored. Here is my one man screen play.

Well I talked to a friendly GM he pretty much told me I am SOL so I guess I have to beg to play now.. which sucks I didn't even know I broke any rules but I would apologize, change my name, kill myself, do unthinkable acts of the sexual origin with my russian overlords wearing a blonde wig.. Anything, but I simply Cannot.
Well I hope I can continue playing. Until then I am sorry for the name I did not mean to offend anyone.

And it has been saying that since 3pm, It's now 10pm.
I looked it up on google and It's because if you are indoors places like bunkers or the prison then you can't sign out for some reason and it keeps you logged in even if you signed out. So I can't really do anything.
And to lehytek, I'm Canadian man. There is no such thing as "racism" here. We don't hide behind hate crime laws, if you insult someone you better be obviously joking or prepare to get your ass kicked. I would have much rather been shot up, looted and spit on by the guy who jailed me, I would have apologized in blue text even.

Yeah, next time we give people like "Kill Brazilia" or " I <3 Hitl0r" pieces of flowers, because they might just've taken their names by accident, and wanted to name their characters "Jim." How dare we offend someone in ways like this!

In german i would say "Mit Kanonen auf Spatzen schießen" - free translated "Use a Gatling Laser to kill a spore plant"
Really, the punishment seems to me harsher than any corner of the wasteland. Maybe some GM finds the key for
prison, and rename/delete that guys char, so he can start again with a less annoying nick.

You are free to report these names then. GMs only jail people with offensive nicknames when they actually see them.

I have no intention to troll xD But yeah, my friend is at wrong. However, don't you think 'perma jail' is too much for the name?
I mean as far as I know in all games I've played, which are a lot, they always gave the person in wrong an option to change names.
Even if he had to make a new account it'd be fine. Offensive name isn't an 'serious offense' as far as I know :P
It's more of a minor offense. But he's being punished like it was a serious offense.

A: I don't think the issue of his name being bad is up for debate. the fact that the GM's are being cruel by not allowing him to change his name is however highly questionable.
B: You could probably just reset your router if you have a dynamic IP. worst case you change your IP and reinstall and that should fix it.

Thank you Blessing you are a true friend. And thanks to anyone who defends me. Honestly I admit it was a stupid name, Whatever my reasons were I guess it's still Offensive, But I had no clue I could be jailed for such a thing. After reading the manual looking for rules I only found out game info and a Fajita recipie, I don't think is a rule for offensive names I think the GM's can just ban and jail whoever they want. And yes the guy who jailed me was Russian. I wrote him a personal letter of apology and even drew him a picture, But I don't think he is going to help me.
I don't really want to do the IP changing route, One reason is my ethernet cable is held in with tape and elastics so I tend to avoid touching the modem in any way. and second reason is because I would like to deal with this the political way.
So I hope the issue can be resolved without me being permabanned, I really love this game and already my friends are level 5 with nice shiny guns and I am in prison. I honestly feel bad I think I really offended the guy its been a day since I sent him a message and no reply and I totally feel like he is punishing me by not letting me play again ever.
I think there is a difference between someone who has the name "Fuck Russia" and runs around with a bluesuit telling russians to go fuck themselves and does nothing, And a person who made some friends, Shoveled shit, got a tent and was actually playing the game.
I met a few russians in game too and they had no problem with me, a few people around VC even gave me some brahmin skins, guns, ammo, armor, etc. I was being a respectfull player in all aspects except for my name which I did not know was wrong (But I obviously knew it was not the most respectfull name, Just didn't think it mattered)

Maybe you you will be able to create new char after server restart? It's up for 13 days now but I don't know how often they restart it.
Edit: Well, your char was transfered to NCR then killed by angry, bloodthirsty people. Maybe now you can create a new one.

Copy your game into another partition, and you can run and play on another char from that point. This will be constant dual logging though.

I read on google that this would not fix my problem.. But who knows. I am patient so I will wait until tonight and see if any GM's or anyone has done anything towards my case (Feels like the police -_-) I am hoping to just get a simple character deletion I don't like funny underhand business, But I really want to play I only have 6 days before I start working 13 hour days again. And I want to have a good foothold on the game before I can only play an hour a day.
*fingers crossed* If nothing happens by friday night I will do IP change I think. Although it seems shady and wrong to me to avoid my prison sentance by escaping, I would sooner be lynched and reincarnated as a bluesuit.

Wow, my opinion of Russians in Fonline has deteriorated even more than it already has. I really don't see the problem with his name in a game intended for mature audiences, its just a joke. It seems to me that everybody but Americunts and Limeys can use offensive slang and names.

Everybody doesn't have humour, sometimes differences between RP and real bad mentality is thin, FOnline have this unique particularity to make people very serious about it (too many in-game frustrations?), there's a lot of reasons. But despite all tenses/wars/all that shit, I must admit that I very like this community, by its unique kind ^^ !
Glad you're free, plus I didn't see "GM ABUZZZE!!$$" in every posts, that's a progress isn't it XD ? Be careful next time !

When I say offending I mean real, intentional offending. Not some nickname bullshit. The guy clearly stated he doesn't mean anything by using his name.
