Title: Give Mercs 'Run away when you see trouble!'

I love my dogs, but they're stupid as hell. They'll run at a floater or a super mutant or a raider or anything.

I suggest being able to give mercs the option to 'Run when you see anything!'.

I imagine running away is harder to implement than attacking...
Your dogs will eventually end up in some corner unable to move.

Hmm, what about 'Ignore all threats'? So they'll just follow me no matter what's happening. That's more or less what I was going for, anyway.

Oh, you mean in encounters? Then I guess it would make sense.

Nice idea, I also find it a little stupid sometimes :)
also option "stop shooting" accesible from criter alt menu would be nice beacuse "stop all actions" don't work when enemy is on ground with -hp and you want to enslave him and your slave want to kill him ;)

How about "keep the distance from the baddies" instead?

Just being able to tell mercs to keep 5 hexes/10 hexes/15 hexes away from enemies would be able to keep random encounters/melee people from messing with your rocket mercs.

Really should be implemented.

Bought two scooting dogs few hours ago, first encounter with a caravan shooting some geckos, dogs dont giving a fuck about "just fight when someone attacks us" and running at the geckos, burst, flamer, no dog left.

Why do shy scooting dogs try to act berserk all the time ?

It make no sense and ruin any possibility to use them properly  to the task they were designed for : scooting.

Could say the same about miner slaves : you pick them up to go mining, tell them not to get in trouble, fisrt encounter and they all act as kamikazes. Lame.

And we don't even have the "fight control" wich could at least open the possibiliy to settle them as "cowards".

It's ... well ... I'll try to keep polite.
