MAKE TREES MAPS SPAWN MORE OFTEN WHERE THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO!!!!
And not 1/30 chance or something dumb like that...
-
Try the mountain kind of areas, they have trees quite often.

Turn this (http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/0/30/703590-satcomtowers_super.jpg) into this (http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/2009/04/custom_1239468895671_2456-1-1230749608.jpg)? No thanks.
Now, seriously, like Boon Lived said, try the mountain areas. I don't think we need more trees.
-
I got better choice.
What about, if we got trees that can cutted down many times (randomly 1-5 times, depends with outdoorsman and luck)
And we got bigger tree sprites already on encounters.

They spawn back after a few mins.

True, but sometimes encounters don't have enough trees and waiting can be risky (because of PKs with huge outdoorsman)

There's no real reason Trees should be so rare really. Will try and make it easier to find them post wipe.

Yeah now that I think of it, one of the first things I noticed in Fallout 2 was the amount of trees in random maps. I wasn't sure if it was life growing again in the Wasteland, or just some geographical difference from the Fallout 1 area.

trees are easy to find, but the author must live in ncr deserts... why you live there if you have to complain so much because of that
-
Like vedaras wrote, the NCR area does not have a lot trees, because it's a desert. At least mountain zones usually have tree maps and they aren't rar, not at all. Such a "1/30" chance does not exist. Maps are taken randomly from zones poll and this poll usually isn't very big.

Buy a depot base. It's at the end of the world, but has few trees.
-
There are also always trees in the north of city ruin "crossing type" encounter maps.

I'd like basic resources like this to start appearing in critter loot tables, too. Every now and then you kill a raider that is lugging around some metal parts, or some wood, or junk, or whatever.

This. Would be logical that a raider is collecting supplies and resources.

logic as nothing to do with this game...

"let me post some random bs."?

Raiders don't collect wood, they raid (kill, rape, robe, burn, rape)
-
although i believe that forests should have taken over most of the wasteland by now i like the desert like athmosphere of the game. besides finding trees is not that hard. just pick up some flints when you find some while hunting and cut some of the trees wheneveryou encounter them. everytime i come back from hunting, i bring about 30-35 wood with me.
if you want to gather wood without hunting, head to the mountains. the cooldown for gathering is already long enough to gather the wood that you can carry, take them to your tent or base and go back to the mountains to gather some more again.

kill, rape, robe, burn, rape, chop, cook and mine ? :P Well actually making them easier to appear will be good, and they may make more encouters have trees you can actually cut (i may be wrong since i dont get wood for a long time), but when i did some encounters have trees you couldnt cut.
