Hi, Im quite new to this game, I'm currently working on an SG crippler, Im at lvl 16 atm, 171% Sg, and 35% crits.
I was trying to kill some Marauders earlier and attempting to land crit shots in eyes with a .44 Magnum revolver.
A lot of times it seemed I would land my critical hits but "for no damage"???
This happened at least 4 times in a row. I dont understand. Sometimes I land hits going as high as 125 points, sometimes nothing. Is there a reason for this or could someone point me to a guide about different types of guns and what role they play?
Thanks.

Finesse gives +30% DR to a target.
.44 JHP has 50% DR to target.
So your target has 80% DR.
Edit:
With finesse use 14mm/.223 pistol
-
.44 JHP ammo does *3 dmg, but +50% damage res, associated with finesse (+30% damage res) and natural DR of target, you can easily go at 100%... Which mean no damage. Unless bypass critical, which ignore DR of target. And then, the *3 damage multiplier, with the crit damage multiplier can do really nasty shots.
Like RavenousRat said, use weapon with ammo giving big malus to DR, like 14mm or .223.

Can a dev give the chance to get a bypass critical* to eyes in this situation:
- Shooter has 10 Luck, Better Criticals, 210 SG skill, and aims at eyes with .44 magnum (if weapon matters, I don't think it does)
- Victim has 6 Luck, 6 Endurance, 7 Agility (if that matters), no beneficial perks, and is wearing Combat Leather Jacket (if that matters) ?
*Note: I mean chance to get a bypass, assuming they already got a critical hit. Thanks! :)
Also: I thought it was said somewhere that maximum DR is 85%. Is this not the case when concerning NPCs/Finesse? Or was the 85% just referring to how high it could possibly get with old drugs system?

It was 90%, and yes referring to old drug system (though it would like in same way if you were wearing an armor supposed to give 100% DR if I understood it well, max res you can have for yourself will always be 90%, with combination of armor, perks and drugs but, if the max protection you can get for yourself is 90%, it can go at 100% with ammo/finesse modifiers)

Ok that's of great help, thanks a lot.
However being quite new my crafter cant make any of those 14mm/.223FMJ guns yet.
He can make .45 Caliber guns such as tommy guns and grease guns, would that work also? Seeing as DR is 0 on this ammo.
But would i be able to land a high damage crit with one shot using such guns? Or Bursts.
-
Or Bursts.
Bursts and finesse is bad combination.
You may pray for bypasses and use .44 JHP or 5mm JHP with AR and shoot eyes.
For now use deagle/10mm pistol with AP ammo, later you may get 14mm/.223 pistol.
Also you may use needler.
You can farm .223 pistols from "Mercenaries" near San Fran.
You can farm 14mm pistol from "Raiders" near BH. Also they have FN FAL's.

Did you forget the "l" in your name?
Use Hunting Rifle unless you picked one-hander.

the chance of critical to bypass armor is 30% approximately
-
the chance of critical to bypass armor is 30% approximately
It depends on body part.
And as RavenousRat said,
Finesse is to be used with .223 or 14mm ammo. If you want to get some damage output

If the Critical has already been rolled then its near 40% chance

You know what's funny? I can do 6-12 damage with a 10mm pistol or a mauser on a molerat WITHOUT critical. If I take .44 revolver or Desert Eagle, I do no damage at all. However, if I do a critical hit (no armor bypass, no knockdowns, nothing), the damage goes over 60. What can we learn from this? Mauser < .44 guns

Not if you use fmj ammo.

So it's 40% with better criticals, is it similar without or a much lower percent? (just curious i would never do a crit build without better criticals)

Probably 20% like better is +20 on crit table...
-
I'm pretty sure there was a site about these tables from Fallout 2, however, I heard they have been changed in FOnline. Basically, it's also about your real life luck - I once got 3 eye crippling shots to a homesteader in a row, but when I started shooting a Raider in the eyes, all I could get from 6 shots is 1 knockdown and 1 armor bypass. In-game luck is only a little helper to real life luck.

That's correct
