I completed the part of the brotherhood quest where you find the disabled hummer.  Once you have what you need, how do you get back to them?

Bumping this, I've been wandering back and forth for about 20 minutes now - haven't found the BOS broken down hummer again in another encounter. Are we definitely supposed to find them in an encounter the second time, or are we supposed to have the hummer appear on our worldmap after that?
