Finesse is supposed to decrease your dmg by 30%, but adding 30DR its a much more heavy reduction if the target has some DR(greater the original DR of the target, greater the %dmg reduction).
It know it works this way in original fallout. But reworking the formula can make this trait more interesting and not only useful by cripplers.
Lets take for example a 60 dmg shoot against a CA target (no drugs or toughness):
-dmg without finesse:
CA armor DR 40% -> 60-24= 36
-dmg with finesse (Currently):
Finesse+armor 70% DR-> 60 - 42 = 18
18 is actually the 50% of 36 (50% dmg reduction).
-dmg with finesse (Suggested):
This could be done applying first the original DR and then the finesse penalty or vise versa
60 - armor reduction = 36 - finesse reduction-> 36-10.8= 25.2
60 - finesse reduction = 42 - armor reduction-> 42-16.8= 25.2
25.2 is actually the 70% of 36 (30% dmg reduction).
Notes:
-The finesse reduction takes place before the DT subtraction.
-Ignore armor hits will be reduced in 30% too.

couse i like to play sniper char - i would say fuck yeah.
But.. BG are nerfed tooo much now and adding this change without balancig BG (buff) would just kill BG totally.

nah.. i think finesse is still very good for cripplers

hell no, finesse is a traint, it has advantages and disadvantages, dont like disadvantages dont take it, instead of turning in advantaging only perk with suggestions like this.

yes i did, same was with big gunners and fast shot, so its same disadvantage author is offering for snipers and finesse.

This wont make it advantage only trait.
-it still reduce your dmg.
-bypass armor hits will do less dmg than with current finesse

Well, this change may also allow to make new critical BG builds.
And also criticlas will be nerfed in near future (with anti crits perks and armors).

and that is what games needs now. Being able to score 95% critical is very wrong for game where people pvp.

Fallout tactics has PvP and finesse Dmg reduction is 25%. AFAIK the reduction is like i suggest and not DR increase.

Remove Better Critical perk and you'll see that they're not that powerful. That imba perk worth does much more than 1 perk slot and especially on 9th level. Even with "Man of Steel" perk, which will take ANY character (may be except for major faction snipers who are protected by thier tank friends and always have huge distance between them and targets) snipers will have +10 to table, of couse this perk will half a chance of >100 roll what is really good. So it'll be another must-have perk, forcing everyone to have 6 ST.
Instead of nerfing high tier weapon they boosting low tier and instead of nerfing criticals they creating anti-crit perks which will be taken by everyone anyway except for crafters.
To not look like full offtop...
Numbers in 1st posts says in other words this:
Make finesse stronger than now, because it sux.
So it's just suggestion of boosing less popular trait than others, so it'll be more widely useful.

It makes the combat triangle... Snipers > BG but Snipers < mercs. Well, just take a look at this picture. IMO it has to be like this.

Exactly, BUT, there are the inbetweens.
Unarmed, energy, explosive(not really existant but fuck it).
Unarmed/melee pwns Sniper/energy because they generally are super tanks that cant get crippled or knocked to shit.
Sniper pwns Energy, explosive, and BG for known reasons.
Energy pwns bad armors but is mostly just an easy to get weapon.
Explosive could be used to pwn mercs ( ;} )
BG is.... different. ROcketlauncher is a majorly tacticaly weapon all on its own. but both miniguns and rocketlaunchers pwn mercs, and rockets are good for Massive damage against a spawn team or a/window fight in general.
Mercs can pretty much pwn evreything because they can use all weapons at the same time but with some serious AI problems which handicap them immensely. They are also extremely good sneaker hunters :)))))
