Title: Changelog 01/03/2011

FIXES:
- Keybinds are ignored if the console is open.
- Minor map fixes and changes.
- Many dialog fixes.
- Music for Junkyard/Waterworks is now properly played.
- Some BoS quest locations have been visible for everyone.

FEATURES:
- Added sand colored robe. It can be obtained from traders.
- Flares can now be used to create light.
- New player command, ~itisagooddaytodie
  Perform suicide if the character is on an island (and stuck there after an event). Doesn't work on the mainland.
- Some very first billboards added to various towns.
- Radios dropped in encounter or bought from NPC vendors have reception turned off and channel set to randomized value between 0-10.
- Encounter locations now randomly play ambient music.
- A few more replication locations reworked.

CHANGES (WIP):
- When attacking someone in melee at a close distance (under and including 5 hexes), the character will no longer start walking, but run towards the target.
- Setting a bounty on players heads in Hub and Redding deactivated for now.
- Areas around The Glow and Crater are now radiated - affects all critters in enounters and worldmap. Dose of radiation depends on distance from location.
- No-Logout in Lost Hills deactivated.
- Increased reputation difference needed for safe killing in town. Itself, the target must have a low reputation.
- Broadcast system reworked (TC countdowns, requesthelp, server messages).
- Banks interest rates locked at 0%.

EXTRA NOTES:
- Animation bugs are known. No need to post about them.

IMPORTANT:
- Run the updater.
- Clear the cache (as usual, this will clear the character password in the login screen)

edit: i cant for some reason get  Downloading faction004.zip. Size: 10416 kb. downloaded been waiting for like 20 min any idea's why.
edit to my edit: just restarted pc downloading proberly now.

I noticed this too.
Use shift and click or use the configuration to put auto running on.
The running by double clicking seems to be turned off now.

I noticed some significant changes in reputation.
My characters karma screen looks like it has been rolled back several days up to a week.

Great Job! Like that ambient music and imrovement melee and unarmed ;) but ... water bag looks ugly :)

Just wondering, why did you have to make suicide command only in arenas, events, and stuff?  Why not everywhere?

P.s. does the hummer on worldmap constantly doing that driving thing count as an already known animation bug?

Has BFOF been changed? Now it costs 1ap more to shoot a weapon (i.e. SMG, Assault Rifle) ?

EDIT:
Another thing:
Killed Regulators - one body disappeared from the map when I was still there..

is this part of update someone died in ncr i went to pick up armor npc was near no duh was clicking non stop and on g to pick it up when it spawned off dead body could not get npc got it. do they get them all now or wtf happend.

Shops that sell armor.  I believe only one sand robe each reset...

I have received two minor packages and I've noticed for example the drama with Bonus Rate Of Fire now has gone.

I guess, it could be solved in a easier way. For example, Game Masters could make some kind of official auction with selling Power Armors for... let's say 10-15 million caps each. Big gangs (which have the biggest amount of money) will buy it and economics would go back to normal. And of course, before doing something like this, a bug with stealing rockets/5mm ammo from BoS should be fixed.

We could undoubtly do that. But whats the deal? It's just a power armor. :) I've seen people being killed by just another powerbuild like in metal armor, even in APA. Powered Armors arent that much of a gamebreaker ATM.

Surf everybody knows that PA arent so much powerfull - but its not the deal. The deal is that power armor is so freaking COOL!!!! everyone just want it in this game. There shouldnt be problems with balancig it. 4 example u could just "turn off" strength booster of PA.

it could be rare item - 4 example spawning only in 1 shop and with slower rate or it could be craftable - the ammount of resources would be definetly veeery big - so big that it wont be paying off in compare to BA (as i heard there is just slightly differance in stats/in game protection between BA and PA)

I think cutting intrest rates to 0% ist the solution becaouse now players just wont use banks at all, its easier/safer to keep ur milions in ur private base/tent.
I think if u cut intrest rate to 1% and slow down the time needed to "earn" that 1% from 1 real day (as it is now) to for example 3-4 days - then it should be intresting for players enough to keep their money in the bank - and still there shouldnt be that economy breake as we have now.

Nothing has really changed, funds will be available as more reserves accumulate in the banks.

The banking system was broken before, to players advantage for a while and then their disadvantage, it will be remade for the wipe and there is nothing else to it.

Rascal made a good point about bank interest. make it profitable but not as much as it was. at least 1% a week.

also, I think it's about time for wipe. this session started half a year ago, the last one was only 5 months long.

when do you plan to wipe the server?

its not logical, in rt the time that u have to "spend" to move ur mouse right click then left click "eats" ur ingame ability to react/shot/play and it costs 3 ap.
in tb u can chill drink ur tea click reload scratch ur head and shot someone and it takes 2 ap.

i think it should be 2 ap in rt and 3 ap in tb - it would be fair.

but ofcooz its just my thought - if u dont agree dont start flame war over it :P

i just tried out running new updated fonline on wine, worked fine, if you have problems try reading that http://fodev.net/forum/index.php?topic=2027.0 .
 Most possible solution for your problem should be changing wine version in fonline executable from system to any version you have.

I also noticed, minorest fix, that the loading mouse (your mouse turns into a clock) now actually works (the clock is graphically ticking instead of being frozen). I like that! :D

Simplest way is to make your own one and release it as mod (since every gfx/sound file that is included in game client can be modified), if its good enough I bet that developers would include it as default :).

I am pleased to announce that the promised worldmap radiation is all washed up around the Glow and on the encounter maps near the Glow.


Look on path red line, I walked around Glow and with 12 radiation resist and not gained any radiation on my ALT:

Right now, only NCR, Hub and Adytum have billboards. More will be added in future, if we have stuff that is worth to mention on them.

As it was already mentioned somewhere, you can put there some basic info for the beginners (experienced players wouldn't be reading it anyway), like "take care of "suicide bombers" or "beware of tent followers".
Or maybe some info about the quests in a city.

That's what they are for. Later they might even feature some randomized stuff.
