I didn't know where to put my topic so i just created here. Okay here we go, i got 300% stealing and pickpocket and i can steal about 1000-3000 caps all at once and no way to steal more because every time it will fail. Today at gunrunners player ZOHAN stole from me 18k caps in 1 sec like it was cheat or something. Does anybody know what i am talking about? Is this bannable?
Edit: In the left monitor it said ZOHAN was spotted by guards while stealing x20 times

I have no thief char, so excuse my nooblike question... :P Isnt there a button like "take all" when you steal from inv^^?
Cause what you describe happened to me pretty often, my inventory was stolen empty (10 to 20 different items disappear in 1 second) alot times in NCR.

Stealing 18000 caps at once is a lot harder than stealing 3000 caps, but it is still possible. There aren't any cheats that can improve your actual skill/ chance of success.

well maybe you have 1 luck and the other guy has 10 if luck effects the chance then that is what happned.

Prolly victim has 1 PE and thief has 300% steal is more realistic.

There's something wrong there. When stealing, the Take All button doesn't work. It sure would be nice, but you have to take everything separately. Also, caps are different than any other items. You can only steal a certain amount of caps based on your steal skill, even though they weight 0 grams.

I'm 95% sure that luck has no bearing on steal whatsoever.

Maybe its coz of luck i got 1
But i don't know how to explain that like he had some mod or program that is stealing caps by one but too fast

It could have been just a rare occasion. Stealing is based on dice roll after all.

Becuase he was spotted taking your shit not failing.
Spotted means he took shit and its ok to kill him.
Failed means he didnt get shit and you can kill him.
and if it really said it 20 times i feel sorry for you :C.

Means he did it "20" times by small ammount per try, spoted, but not failed. If he did it in 1 second, then he's korean starcraft pro-gamer with uber apm, or used 3rd party stuff, don't know.

And i thought there is a 30sec cooldown for stealing now ...

it is possible to use a bot to steal but that would take longer than '1 second' are you sure he was that quick?

I know there was a bot in the previous session as someone used it to steal from me and I saw the stuff moving from my inventory with an impossible speed.
Since the last update (I think) the steal cooldown gets reset to 30 seconds with every item you take from someones inventory.
So stealing 20 times in 1 second is impossible, unless someone uses some kind of hack.

once at VC, i was approaching the main gate with my newly crafted Buffouts (plural) and saw Medved-Nova waiting for me there. i didn t advance immediately coz if i remember correctly the gate has only 1 hex of width, but when he moved a little i went. now he hadn t touched me yet, so he couldn t have opened his steal-me window, and i ran by him, but the bastard still managed to steal my stuff. so that was either the fastest man alive or the (luckily) only example of 1-click steal cheat i ve seen in 1 year playing FOnline. so yeah, i d say there are cheats out there.

k few things from a thief out here =x (tough i steal from npc only) so ...
1) luck doesnt work on steal
2) u can steal as many items as u want in "1" stealing session (as in 30 sec cooldown between sessions) that means i can move 6-7 items than close inventory window and after that i have to wait on the cooldown
3) u CAN steal more than 2-3k caps but its insanely rare that it works out properly
4) lately noticed like 2-3 russians stealing WAY too fast to make it posible so YES there is some strange 3rd party tool out there

since were talking about stealing can I ask another noob question?
Are certain NPC's protected from stealing? or is it just because my steal skill is too low?
for example some NPC's i click steal on, and nothing happens. no steal window

Yeah, some NPCs cannot be stealed.

Most NPCs are stealable, no guards are. Many NPCs don't have much on them though. Modoc really isn't the safest place to go stealing or "raping dudes with a gat," however, because its unguarded.

Indeed you could rape the trader but you wont get anything from him, you cannot loot his body and your only doing it to be a troll.

Yeah that doesn't sound right.
I have no idea how that steal table works but I've also noticed that I have to steal caps in chunks.
maybe he had some script that stole caps in his max chunk possible multiple times?

1. Not sure if you're right, but I don't notice much difference with my 10 LK pre wipe build.
2. Not true. Since the last update the timer resets with every item you steal.
3. This partly depends on your build. 2-3k is max, it can be less. I think this partly depends on PE, but I'm not sure.
4. I've heared the same thing. People losing over 10k of caps in a second while have the chatbox full of error messages that the thief failed. 1 failed attempt is 1 message.
