Title: Mineral gathering cooldown variation
Post by: borse on February 03, 2011, 10:11:20 pm
Idea: Make gathering cooldown vary depending on STRENGTH.

Details: Be able to mine almost full weight capacity. 10 str char would be able to mine almost 70-80 in weight of minerals, where as a 3-4 str char would only be able to mine 30 in weight capacity. This would be achieved by the time you reach the 20 minute cooldown.

Pros: Players would be able to impact the economy more with crafting chars.
Solo crafters would be more productive, more common build.

Cons: Factions would benefit far too greatly from being able to gather mass amounts of minerals.
Inflation from faction crafting alts might go against the economic plans/general game plans of devs.

Compromise: Could make the change in the amount able to be gathered in a 20 minute cooldown period to a less extreme amount. Allowing a minor boost to faction crafting and solo crafting alike.

Please post constructive criticisms/your ideas below.

Bad idea, promotes 10 STR miner alts, cripples loners.

Exactly. Encouraging any kind of minmaxing stats encourages only alting at this moment.

othervise whole cooldown idea is broken and now highly abused by proxying. (easily posssible to mine 140+ HQ ores in half an hour by one real man.)
