Title: Scorpionz
Post by: Attero on January 26, 2010, 09:49:31 pm
SCORPIONZ and all their kind WE HATE THEM

buggy , slow , buggy , worthless , buggy, keep runnning to them all the time , buggy , waste of bullets ....
did i mention they bug 90% of time and you have to wait full round of their afk ? with several it can take 5 mins ....

make them into super druper scorpions so they chase you on whole map or smth

wE hAtE tHeM

(i know i know im just super angry at them, do some whatever fast fix to them so they dont keep you locked with their turns...)

We always say, don't use TB, it's buggy. But nobody wants to hear that.

wow can you really compare TB with real time rly ?

i mean for PvP its whatever

but vs mobs being able to blow burst in lined enemy is just priceless. Possibly also using stuff like granades or RL with enemy running around is quite hard if you dont wanna hurt yourself.

Finally - humanoids are fine, any human encounter works totaly fine no bugs nothing , only creatures bug ( i think its that they lose target when out of sight while humanoids dont - or so i think...

@Badger -  nice constructive post you made - wow

Still, tb is very buggy in the moment.

Scorps are no problem in fact. 3-4 rockets are enough even for large groups (16). No scorpion = no problem ;)

The biggest problem I encountered with TB is sometimes ending combat isn't quite as easy as killing all the enemies. Other than that it gives a GIGANTIC advantage while hunting in groups. (Hunting alone it can be a massive disadvantage.)

In regard to scorpions: New players need them to level. They can't just shovel shit ALL the time. Just most of it.

Shoveling shit was never meaned as a way to level up. It was just a needed 'feature', after our Brahmins learned to create shit.

if you can find pens that werent cleared for a while its easy lv 2. with it you can get first proffession level.

Oooh... All this Brahmin Shit going to waste. I guess no one uses that for making Jet anymore. ;)

Im sure you have heard this like 15682350^53 times BUT: Is it possible to decrease NPC turn? Instead of giving them 30 sek, give them 15 or something :/ Or is their turn connected to ours so if you decrease their our will also be decreased and seperating them would just mean shitload of extra work? If so just skip it ;)

yes decreasing their turn time would be a life-saver, or make some script if they don`t see any target, just skip their turns instead of making random moves every few second, looks like some loop responsible for searching a target in program-code is fucked up

That would be great if their action could  base on their perception. The creature sees you -  always attacks (or skip round if its friendly to you), creature cant see you - skips its round. If you are away from a mob but you come closer the creature starts to fight with you.

Shoveling shit was never meaned as a way to level up. It was just a needed 'feature', after our Brahmins learned to create shit.

And that's why they brought in "THE SHOVELER!!!" (No i definitely did not steal his name from the movie: "mystery men..." That's a ridiculous assumption.)

Hopefully once they do add more quest it will be plenty easier to level up, because Shit shovel is exactly want i want to do in my spare time... (I prefer killing scorpions/Geckos/Wombats/Bahmin-hunting-taming, and making shotgun shells... now)

Uhm. Can't say that it's actually hard to level up. If you are lucky and do the right quests, you can go up to level 3 in let's say one hour or so. This is already a pretty good start.

15+ is a pain in the ass to grind if you aren't a crafter though.

Nah, if you have a hunting party you can level up relatively fast, ghoul scavengers give 165 XP and are pretty easy to kill, you could try to kill centours aswell :D awesome xp but not that safe :) But yes being a crafter helps really much.

I play alone and diminishing xp means that I only get like 500 xp per nasty floater. That's 210 of them to reach 21.

well 200 mobs aint that bad in some mmos you need 2000 to hit the final lv ... but then the kills happen faster , no ammo , and there are quests >< (not to mention its beta)

You can't really compare this game to MMO's because its not designed to be one.

Um.... Massively Multiplayer Online? im pretty sure if you design a game to allow several thousand players to play at the same time via the internet, its an MMO

Still you do not grind the same way as in other mmos, where you hoard up 20 creatures runs in a circle, do one AOE magic that almost kills them - repeat... alot... you might have to think a bit in FOnline when entering combat -.-' and yes I know that becouse I have played normal mmos and you could probably teach a monkey to play them...

***pvp may let you use 1 more braincell compared to pve

Regardless of what the devs say this is fallout 2 with multiplayer and it will never work properly until they let go of the old mechanics.

If it's Fallout 2 with multiplayer, I wonder where all the Fallout 2 content is hiding.

What old Mechanics are that because I assure you they are probably in Fallout Tactics, and that was multiplayer. :)

We don't have the tactics mechanics because we don't have autoattacks, we don't have tactics weapons which had different damage ranges and ap doesn't regenerate at the same pace. When I say this game is F2 im talking about the character building system and the weapons and armour. It's just like 2 tactics features slapped into fallout 2.

exactly, imo the entire game outside of townships should be turnbased.
and back to topic, they really shoud buff up brahmin to have lazer eyes.
