Title: Need help making an AWESOME leader char

Here's what I have so far:
ST: 5 (for assault rifles)
PE: 6
EN: 6
CH: 7
IN: 6
AG: 10
LK: 1

Traits: Small frame, Fast shot

Perks: Awareness, educated, magnetic personality, lifegiver x 2, BROF, Living Anatomy.

I plan on using burst weapons (Assault rifles and smgs) and low ap single shot pistols (14mm probably, maybe .223). I figure that with living anatomy my single shots will be FAR more effective, and with 10 AG, brof and fast shot ill be able to unload 4-5 shots with most pistols. So I'll end up having 4 mercs and 200hp, but 1 LK is going to probably be a pain in the ass. What do you guys think?

bursting wpns arent good for merc commanders. remember that mercenaries are spawning aroud you, it will be easy to hit them with burst. thats why most of such characters ive seen were using bazooka.

+nuka and cigs (if you dont wanna take drugs make AG 4 or 6)

If you have stocked up on Mentats, you can take one pack and buy yourself a 5th merc, you can still roll with 5 mercenaries, but can't talk to all.

Wrong. If you out of mentants on encounter, you'll have to leave one )

4 mercs = leader sucks
so maybe go with the low st 9ch build that uses rocket launcher instead?

leaders dont need weapons, just set trap, go take a poo, come back and loot dead bodies.

Thats a false. i've carried 3 mercs around with 4 CH. you order them to force move together. and as long as you've told one to join you. they'll still join you.

Yes, but you cannot move on global unless somebody will bring you mentats.
If you're not dual logging you might get in this trouble once.

Why cant you move with 5 followers? 7 CH, 6 follower slots. its worked the same way for me with 4 CH and 3 slaves. i had three empty slots, so i could carry the two extra ones.

We're talking about mercs. They only way you can move 5 mercs is CH9 + magnetic personality.

As far as I know it's the best variant for merc commander (not slaver)

Man. You are wrong. You need 9 CH and MP to buy 5 mercs but after you will need only 6 ch or 5+mp to move them.

Slaver builds should have 9 CH. merc leaders only really need about 6 CH, since you can drink a beer and eat mentats and buy your mercs. than leave. i've gone hunting with a friend, plus two ghoul slaves, with 4 CH. and it worked fine, so i can back this up with ingame testing myself.

An AWESOME leader build should have the word "Pimp" in his name, wear those nice looking purple robes and wield his spear shaped Pimp staff with a shiny diamond.

Make him slaver, enslave female NPCs and go be the new pimp in Reno.

Went with RL commander build

ST: 4
PE: 7
EN: 6
CH: 9
IN: 6
AG: 8
LK: 1

Small Frame, Good natured (was gonna go for heavy handed to reduce crit chance but wasnt sure if that only affected melee)

Awareness, Educated, Magnetic Personality, lifegiver x2, Weapon handling, Brof

199 hp, 9 ap (allowing 1 shot and 1 reload), 5 mercs, 180 BG (dunno if that's too high for hitting 40range targets), 100 fa, 100 doc, 160 OD.
