Title: Town Control Intel
Post by: naossano on January 21, 2011, 08:50:01 pm
I was thinking recently that it would be nice if we had more information ingame about town control.

For instance :

- We have a timer, for an ongoing town control attempt, on our screen, at any place we are. Could we also have a message displayed in the same way, to tell us if, "the faction xxx has taken xxx city", "the faction xxx has failed to take control of xxx city" or "the faction xxx has lost control of xxx city" (if the faction killed a key city npc). I think these intel are more or at least, as important, than the control timer itself. (the timer just stop, and you don't know if it ended, or been cut)

- A way to know  how long the faction have the city. (and maybe get a bonus from taking a city which was kept a long time by the ennemy)

Edit: It maybe anecdotic, but still  useful.

Use your pipboy and you can get most information from 1.  Press P twice and click statistics.

This is little problem for now, at least for me.

Yes, could be nice to know for how much time the faction has the city. It will help to know, for instance, how much militian they can have, and we will undertand when the could have one more, or when they will have new caps in the chest. (and try to trap the one who will take these caps)

But, the first point is having the intel that the faction just took or lost, or didn't manage to take, the city, at the second it occurs, with the same real time display than we have with the timer. Could be very crucial to know it easily, when for, instance, we are in the middle of the battle, and we don't know, at the end of the timer, if we had the city (being not much and suffering casualties). We can't check the pipboy when the ennemy is shooting at us. Other instance, if the faction owning the city, acted as dumb, and killed the sheriff (or other npc if the rules change), all the other faction will now at the second and could rush to prevent the faction from retaking the city.
