Title: Problems with the Launcher
Post by: Bl/ind on January 20, 2011, 10:12:40 pm
 ??? ???
When click ' play ' on the launcher, a message appears saying ' MASTER.DAT ' not found
I didn't think I had too, but do I have to have fallout 2 on a DOS or in a file to play it?
I hope not 'cuz I really wanted to play, but I have tried to play fallout 2 on DOS box about 20 times and it never worked..
If this is the case, anyone know where I could possible download Fallout 2 without having to use DOS box?

Fallout 2 is not a DOS-game, therefore it will not run with DOXBox.

The Master.dat and Critter.dat is either on your Fallout 2 cd or in your Fallout 2 installation folder. You have to point to these files via the FOnline: 2238 settings tool. Or you just copy&paste them into your FOnline client folder. OR you simply install FOnline: 2238 via our installer (http://www.moddb.com/games/fonline-2238/downloads/fonline-2238-client-setup) and chose point to the Master.dat and Critter.dat from there.

Uhm... I DID install it.. But I don't have Fallout 2. I have the files but whenever I try to open it a message appears saying " You do not have the correct application to open this file "

You dont open them, you just set the correct path to these files in foconfig.exe

Ugh. I give up with this stuff. I am not exactly tech-savy. No warez talk in here.

If you follow the instructions in the FOnline: 2238 installer, there really shouldn't be a problem... except if you can't read, then it is a problem of course.
