While i am aware this won't be able to be done easily.
I think adding a area to the south. or east, that has some new items to find. and a new town or two would be helpful in the long run. as one of the main things is that people don't like some of the new things, since they're not "fallouty", or the dev team cant really do somethings based on the pre-set fallout lore.
But if you could go a little ways east. or south. you could add new weapons. and have the option to learn how to make them via NPC quests. and add other things to give people stuff to do.
You could add items such as,
Automatic Mauser C96 upgrade for the normal mauser.
M1 Garand. made as a step up from the hunting rifle. but under the sniper rifle.
.45 Peacekeeper revolver. for the sake of revolver lovers. and as an extra low tier gun for raiders. them all having mausers is kind of strange.
"Doc's Whiskey". a mix of healing powder and whiskey. giving the effects of healing powder and beer mixed.
"Jug bomb", a simple timer based fire bomb. made with rotgut, but weaker than TNT.
"Poison Puffer Grenade". a homemade gas grenade that does light damage, but poisons a target.
You could also build a rougher PvE area. as well as an option to start out as a local of the new area. As a trait to take early on.
The main reason i thought of this. is it also gets around the question of "Why didn't the original game have those items? or those monsters", as the answer is you didn't go to the place where they're at. and i know getting PvP to an enjoyable state is a goal. but giving more PvE and less griefing based options would help draw other players in.
Thoughts?

Would be very interesting but not on this server, its been stated devs want the game to be as similar to original fallouts as possible, new areas would be the opposite.
-
Not qute. i'm talking about extending the map. and letting you roam out more. Fallout 1 didn't let you go up north. and fallout 2 didn't let you go south really.
Its only FOnline, and modded games of fallout 1, and 2, that you can visit both.
So if you could take a walk south a bit. it'd just be adding extra content, away from the main area. which is the "core" of the server, thus leaving that to remain true to the fallout classics. while allowing people to visit custom areas. and add new content outside of the old framework to a point.

some new areas would be nice and new guns but make new areas hard. :)

There is already enough areas for players, but not all be used much.

Dude, i actually don't mind see a game taking place in the land of Van Buren.
But not on this server.

Weapons we know has little place in fallout world... One exeption is Desert Eagle (It was apparently fav gun of the original developer, and the name is just perfect for the game so, it makes it work). Mauser on other hand is quest weapon from fallout 1 (personally it doesint really fit the game, doesint make sense it is so existing in the world, but i guess fonline devs likes it so much). Tommy gun is just a pop culture reference from fallout 2 (there was a bit too much of it in that game).
M1 Garand... It fits a second WW2 theme, not fallout.
We must remember that fallout world is an alternative future all way from 50s (if i remember that date correctly).
What i would like however, would be if the revolvers would be added a function where you can put specific amount of bullets into the chamber. So you could place only one bullet, and spin the chamber so it places randomly. It could create the first and only game though the wasteland ;)

I like the idea and i was thinking about it as well. But actually I was thinking about those small islands west from LA. There might me some kind of 'boat' allowing players to go there.
And dont forget about Alcatraz west from SF.

:'( The opposite of what I think, with few player in the old map we dont need a new one, maybe we need to left the south and play only in the north, the true fallout2 map.
-
We have enough areas currently. We just need to fill them with some content.
-
Fallout History started changing from our own after world war 2.
Thus. the M1 Garand existed. and it shoots a big ass bullet, plus is a very good weapon to have for long range combat in general.
Thus the .45 Peacekeeper existed. and would be big enough to hurt a molerat. while being a revolver that existed before WW2.
As for the boat idea. that could work also.
We have enough areas currently. We just need to fill them with some content.
But the point is. our current areas have limits. if there's new ones that weren't in FO1 and 2, than you can add more content of your own chosing. rather than having to stick as close to the original games with the "Core" areas.

Yes, it existed, but in what amounts would it exit after a third ww2? very small. Thats why we dont see AK47, M16. It doesint fit the game. Maybe Fallout tactics. Instead of AK47, we have assault rifles (it is a AK rifle but a futuristic version), and hunting rifle instead of M16. .45 Peacekeeper i could survive... But M1 Garand... please not. Then we can just play FOT instead.

Add .45 pistol/revolver please.

I agree here. Basically all towns are lacking content and there's almost infinite potential to make them more interesting.

Who needs another crappy T1 weapon, that no one except noob will be using? I'm against that suggestion.
-
why dont 21 lvls use low tier guns? i do always.

This game doesn't cater only to top tier equipment hoarding powergamers.
-

Cause it's easy to be rich at 21 lvl, and when you are rich, you take best guns.
-
You don't always have to think about the level 21s. Think about new comers, they have a very low array of weapons at their disposal and it would be nice to see a few more Tier 1 or Tier 2 weapons.

You didn't pay much attention to what I said. I mentioned new comers who don't have much money for the majority of those weapons. When is the last time you saw a level 2-3 running around with an FN FAL or most of those weapons who have no help at all from anyone else.

Even the worst noob can get without much difficulty 1/4 of the list, if he learn how to craft he get another 1/4, and after a week he have 3/4 or even all available.

you would think but i know help atleast 5 noobs a week get there tent up and they have been playing for atleast and week and only guns they have been using are 10mm and shotty i mean we really do need more guns that list you have may seem big to you but its really quite short compared to how many weapons we should have. i get yeah we want it to be falloutish but i mean really people say we will be in beta for forever but if we do little things like this add more weapons make it a little more noob friendly but not so noob friendly its stuiped we could be out of beta in no time and have a real mmorpg in no time at all.
-
I would have to agree with that.
Really the only weapons newbies use are 10mm pistols. SMGs, and shotguns.
But, the point of what i'm suggesting. is to add a bit of adventure to FOnline. and by adding new areas. more "dungeon" type areas could be added. without reworking existing areas. since there is only so much space.
It doesn't have to make people want to stay forever. but giving a quest for the option to craft something. or special perks, or as part of a quest to join a faction could at least add some PvE play, that is more fun if you have a group. since doing quests has been the core of most multiplayer RPGs.
