Remove it
Inb4 "wasteland is harsh derp derp derp"
1 - Have fun not having new players, seeing old players leaving and playing alone in the "harsh wasteland"
2 - It only promotes griefing
-
Its not hard to get yourself 900+ karma, so stop crying and just do it.

Although i dont have this problem, I am going to say that, if you cannot survive in city for more than 10 seconds, how can get that much karma to not die without dying.
-
Enter at vortis? :P
-
Hm, mostly the Vortis-side etrance is safe, also the bluesuit-cleaners don't have the entire day, you know.
-
I've tried entering at Vortis but then assholes who sit up there yell "BLUESUITS AT VORTIS!" then you get killed instantaneously.
-
You've not just entered and went to your destination, you were STANDING at Vortis. For a little while. And the assholes weren't CAMPING, they did a SMALL CHECK if there's someone here. Normally, you just pass into the city...
-
It's not harshness if some kills another guy JUST LIKE THAT and get away with it.
It's nonsense.

Are people getting high rep from trading and healing npcs? If so, then I propose that these actions can only raise it to a certain level. That way you'd actually have to do quests and such instead of grinding on trading and healing.
-
as far as i know trading only gets you as high as 1000 rep or is that only at vc? havent tried trading much at NCR for reasons we all should know 8)
-
Just went to NCR with a level 1 character, was killed on my way out of town (and looted of course.)
- Exploiting a bug or abusing of a feature (this includes security failures in guarded towns).
- Slowing down the beta process by being clearly not focused on testing properly the game or preventing other people to test it properly.
The last part "preventing other people to test it properly." in particular.

oh right, new players get 900+ karma just like that
you must be some sort of genius
-
I dont give a fuck about new players. They can kill some scorpions and trade with tails or something :P
omg ur like so hardcore!!!1
-
I am not really often in protected towns those days, but if Idolized works as immunity then its just broken. No matter of reputation if someone commits a crime guards should act accordinately. It doesint make sense otherwise.
-
The only thing i seem to read is....i got killed at NCR
that is the only town anyone seems to have problems with...
my suggestion... STAY OUT OF NCR!!!!
you can easily go to junktown or the hub or even the boneyard (much better places IMO)
if you keep getting killed at NCR why do you keep going back!!!! and also don't just sit at the bazaar or vortis...

That's as good as "l2p" comment.
The point here is that a feature isn't working as it's supposed to.
Idolized means that a character is respected member of society. Does killing other visitors randomly sound like something a respected member of civilized society would do? Especially member of nation like NCR whiches laws are based on the pre war USA's.
-
I agree, Idolized is overpowered, One shouldn't be outside of the law just because they are respected by a bunch of shopkeepers.

exactly
They should get better prices, or bypass the 3ch requirement to speak with NPCs, but killing? no
-
Agreed,
This feature is over-powered and prone to epic abuse, as can be seen.
For all the haters with "l2p" and "suggestion" remarks, remember that this game is a beta, and all of us, you included, have a duty to report exploits and make the game better for all of us.
