I just finished drawing that car and I suggest to add it into the game. Yes, i know its out of 1950s style, but please note that Hummer and some guns doesn't fit as well. At least my Horsie looks fallout-like. I hope you will like it anyway :)
Stats:
Name: Mad Horse
Speed: the highest in the game
Power consumption: high
Number of seats: 2
Trunk size: Very small
Damage resistance: Normal
Price: High
Please comment and vote!

Skull removed.
-
The head bone look weird. For the rest it seem nice.
-
No problem. It can be easily removed :)
-
It's, it's... great, nothing less, no more ;)
-
YES!!!!!!!!!!.
yes.
No? (that means yes)
-
The car don't have the same perspective than the game. No?

Yeah I was just about to say that. Looks more like a horizontal view on a isometric plane. But other than that, it looks "wasteland-ish" and its graphics aren't too out-of-place, so overall good job.
-
Really nice, only if the prespective was right :)
-
NastyKhan, great work! It looks very falloutish ;)
-
i like the car but i find that the skull on it does not work with it so well. i think if you take it off it will look better. :)
-
Same comment about the skull, nice job Khan !
-
nice job, this shoud be added
but please dich the skull, is ugly
-
Great job , it definitely must be implented into game.So , yes!
-
Why not add a Ferrari or a Chopper? FO 2238 is fine as it is.
-
Did you rendered or shopped it?
-
It looks very bad and unfitting in terms of the perspective. Also, it just looks as its cut out of some photo (hence the perspective issue), not like a 3d model. Besides that, I don't think we need another car.
-
The skull has been removed. (check the first post)
About the perspective, well, I work in 2D so I don't think I would be able to fix that. I could just.. draw a new one from the very beginning. The only thing i can say to defend myself is that in my opinion the angle difference is not so big, and I think it's acceptable.
-
The problem is that it looks unfitting, not "bad". ;) Just lay the mustang on a hex field which is used in fallout and you'll see that it won't fit. Don't want to badmouth your work here, it looks good, (I even like the skull ;) ) - it just clashes with the rest of the scenery stuff.
-
You could try to free transform it to the correct angle and then brush away all the edgy pixels with a paintbrush tool. I did some reangling with other graphics aswell and this method here shows it really good, you may give it a try. ;)

Here is a tile layout for easy checking if the edges fit the fallout perspective: http://img547.imageshack.us/i/mastertilelayout.gif/
-
Thanks but i'm afraid although it's helpful with simple figures (like road signs) it cannot resolve the problem with the whole car. I should just try to draw a new one instead.
-
When I'm at home today I'll try it out aswell, maybe we can save you a bit of work there. ;)
-
Let me introduce you the full version then: http://www.sendspace.com/file/pubgbw
I was personally thinking about something else. I just downloaded an old Gearhead Garage PC game. It allows player to freely rotate any car he have and do many snapshots, like:
(http://img810.imageshack.us/img810/8754/shot5k.th.jpg) (http://img810.imageshack.us/i/shot5k.jpg/)
Once i will find the right angle, i'll add textures and junk-stuff from previous version. It shouldn't take long.
I would REALLY like to see this baby in game.
-
Thanks, I'll try it out.
As for
Once i will find the right angle[...]
Remember to use this here as a reference: http://img547.imageshack.us/i/mastertilelayout.gif/ <- align the car on the edges of the tiles, they are in the exact perspective which fallout uses.
-
Yeah, but note that there are more directions than just south, north, east and west :) The car can miss the lines, but still be in correct perspective.
-
Look's greate :)
Yes
YES
YES!
I whant it

Looks great, allways have a weakness for american muscle cars so hell yes i wanna see that car in game hehe,

What about now? (I mean the perspective) I think it's ok.
-

The perspective is ok, but it's in perspectivic view, while everything else is orthographic in Fallout.
This means, your car becomes narrower towards the tail, and while it's absolutely normal IRL, it looks odd in comparison with other objects in Fallout.
In orthographic view, every part of visible object doesn't become smaller with the distance.
A very insightul experience for me, thank you, NastyKhan. Perhaps you could distort the frame in Photoshop, so the tail becomes as broad as front.
Also, you need to correct the lamp position above the car, it seems that in Fallout the lightsource is high above the player, slightly 15 degrees southwest.
-
The first car was perfect as it was... :'(
-
I agree with Michael.

Yeah, i know what u mean. It's hard to get/make such pic though. I still have one more option: i can edit the Highwayman and manually shop it into the mustang. Thats gonna take some time.. but at least both perspective angle and perspective type would remain correct.

Try this tutorial, it's also also a laugh.

i LOL at you good sir
-
so what about it?
is a yay or a noway?
-
I liked it myself, nice job. Indeed it does look better without the skull, too. The sprites are just too small and the skull was taking up too much space on an otherwise nice looking grill in my opinion. Yes, the perspective looks a bit wrong but aside from that: nice job.
-
I whant that car !!
-
The perspective is still wrong. See this thread (http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40060) for more information on how to correctly render objects for Fallout. "Guessing" based on a hex template is bad. Always use a real camera setup for the correct orthographic projection.
-
But the OP is long gone.
OT: I wished there was this link around somewhere, when I was setting up lighting for models, because I spent like 2 hours searching NMA for that topic :<.
-
You should just have asked. :>
-
I love the first vision of a car. It's just perfect.
