Crafting cooldowns aren't so much annoying becouse your char is not sticked to one place and still can perform other actions. I'm usually wandering across the map, lloking for encounters, chcecking out what's going on in towns etc.  But when  it comes to heavy mining, which is far more boring cuz' I need to sit in one place for several minutes, I usually grab a book and I'm reading nearby my PC.

I play flash games all the time when minning, and if you keep forgeting about mining, then you can use this tool (by me):

I started to sort my mats and discovered that components looks much more impressive than the result.
