Title: Mercs/slaves shouldn't attack hostile NPCs if set to "not attack anything"
Post by: NastyKhan on December 15, 2010, 12:41:22 am
If u have a slave or merc, and u order him to NOT ATTACK ANYTHING UNTIL GET HIT ..it doesn't work. During random encounters he/she will attack enemies anyway. It's very frustrating because:

1. Sometimes they just don't have a chance! (Single 90hp merc vs horde of golden geckos + crazies)
2. Sometimes it's just a waste of ammo (Burst-shooting to rats or mantis)
3. Sometimes you just want to keep your teammates away from combat to make them carry loot
4. And finally sometimes you would just like to kill some monsters by you own to get some exp!

So.. It would be nice if that thing will work correctly.

Well, this isn't really a bug, because the follower commands are only referring to interactions with other players (don't attack any other player unless you get hit). The wording of the statement could be revised, though, but it isn't really a bug.

I'll move this to suggestions.

And as for this suggestion, I support it :) There should be command that makes it so followers don't attack NPCs, even if hostile, unless you tell them to.
