I downloaded the starter ting from the wiki, then installed, and linked it to master.dat and critters.dat of Fallout 2. When I start it, at the menu screen, the install icon is grey, the play icon is red. When I click play, it does nothing. I pressed uninstall, it just closed, and remained in the same place.
I'm not great with computers, what have I missed?
It's the Fallout Collection version, if that makes any difference.

Try downloading the 1 from there if you havent and got a different 1 then install.
don't forget to update once the launcher is up.
If you have got that version then i have no idea.

That directed me to the same menu. When I exit it, it says are you sure you want to exit the FO installation setup
I've got the client, and installed, but I don't have any data :|. No FOlauncher.exe or config. Where's the IRC, I'm getting tired of waiting.

Also when you have truoble installing, you should do a clean install to C:/Fonline for example, as it can solve problems. If you have no data installed, then that is going to work.
And copy and paste master.dat and critter.dat to the folder, with default paths set during installation.
It's bound to work at some point ! keep going;

Thanks man, that worked. But now Pressing play doesn't work haha. I think it was answered in the main help thread, I'll try there.
Any advice?
