Just a thread to see how raiding has affected everyone, to let off some steam, and to share strategies and tips to help you and your faction avoid being raided by followers/members.
-
The easiest way to make sure you don't get raided is to start a base with 2 other people, get some mercs set up around the entrance set to attack non guildies and then boot your friends out of the faction. They get killed by the guards, they die in the base so they lose knowledge of where it is and you have your own place.

Hehehe i have raided a few bases and tents its always funny to see what people have to say afterwards ;D

I have followed someone to, and then raided their tent.

I actually just had my tent raided a few minutes ago. He took most of my guns and money so I logged onto my alt and walked to NCR. He was waiting there in my armor with my gun so I got point blank and turned his face into mush with a p90. He is actually still there now with a friend of his following people and raiding their tents. He followed two of my friends in my faction to our base - he got killed the first time and left right before he got to the base the second time. Sneaky little devil. Needless to say am I am going to pay more attention in the future - some people just can't make it on their own so they have to steal and I understand that I guess. The look on my face when I killed him though - it must have been priceless.
(The reason I was in ncr was to buy a combat leather jacket. Someone was selling two and the other person who wanted to buy them didn't have enough so I bought them both and gave the other one to the person for free. How about that for karma?)
If anyone sees Dremor say hi to him for me. =D

I think the game could do with a little audio notifier when someone joins your party. A 'DO YOU WANT DREMOR TO JOIN YOUR PARTY' is too cumbersome, but it'd be nice to hear a little distinctive noise when someone starts following you.
-
To be fair a prompt for someone joining your party is commonplace among pretty much every mmo I have played. The problem with that is I think the devs like the fact that you can be followed - this is the goddamn wasteland. You have to protect yourself and someone can follow you and steal your stuff/kill you. I just think it should be a little bit harder or something. Dremor and a few of his friends are still out there doing it - I guess he just got 30k off of a guy. I guess the game is easier when you stoop to their level.
-
I keep following people to their bases/tents because it is amusing
not really doing it for the items as it would go insanely much faster to just craft the stuff myself
-
Update: His friend blubber just followed me back to my tent and was killed by my mercenary. Shit was SO cash. I suggest everyone get a merc for their tent.
-
I keep ghoul snipers outside of the screen borders when you appear in my base so you get shot from multiple angles by npcs you cant see. I tested it out with alts, nothing survived loading the map.

The ability to see all your followers names listed right in front of you on WM aint enough?

When you're moving 10 feet and they join five seconds late? Both times I got invaded I wasn't even paying attention to game. Now I have safeguards for that (Great idea roach - I am considering getting one or two.)

Well to be fair after spending an hour running back and forth between NCR, my tent, a mining spot, and my faction's outpost the last thing on my mind is someone seeking my tent stash. He actually left a fair amount of junk in his wake - which I used for crafting and am now sporting combat armor and a XL70E3 I am about to replace. Everything worked out for the best - if anything it motivated me to do better.
Edit: On an unrelated comical note in the minefield 1 thread both blubber and I are seen running onto the field in the first picture. He must have taken a break from robbing people for the competition.
-
Lol blubber tried following me today so I beat him to death in NCR while people cheered me on. It was pretty great.
-
Yah i saw that while i tried to get my hides for first tent, pretty funny
