Title: Problem : Windows 7 64 bit and running FO

I got a laptop coming tomorrow and it's Win 7, 64 bit.. Which won't run FO 1, 2 or FOnline. I wasn't aware of this till yesterday when my friend tried to play FOnline. So is there any way to get past this? I haven't used Win 7 before. Does it have a ''program compatibility mode'' option?

Ehm... I have win7 64bit and works without any problems... DX9 mode wont work but otherwise it works. Do you have all drivers etc, directx etc installed?

I have Windows 7 64-bit. Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and FOnline works just great.
It does have the "run in compatibility mode" option. Create shortcut for FOnline -> Properties -> Compatibility. (My W7 is in finnish, so I don't know what these titles are exactly in english version). You can try this, but I'm not using this mode myself. So I think you don't have to use this either.
Update your graphics card drivers. Install DirectX. And yeah, what it says when you start the game? Nothing? Error?

Fonline works here and about 2 & 1, I use a kind of DX9 hack which works like a charm
although I have to say, sometimes the client crashes on startup (generally need to start 3 times before it works)

It acted a little glitchy, it only took 2 trys so far. You guys were right, there's little to no problems, I have no idea what my friends issue was. My laptop rocks, I just got everything transfered and installed most of my games. I'm about to log on FO now. \m/
Edit : My only issue is this funky wide screen and adjusting FO to it, I'll worry about it later.

I had no troubles prewipe version, now all i get are servercrashes. ( Yes, i deleted FON.exe and faction4.dat) For what i can say now the game looks really good.
