Title: Implement some hot-keys to slaves/mercs
Post by: Bulldog on November 26, 2010, 12:59:40 am
Well, as the topic says, Implement some hot-keys to slave/merc commands, they are very hard to control in RT, some letters, maybe some numpad buttons could be bonded to some commands, such as "stop all actions" move ect.

Meh, if your fast enough its not that bad, run somewhere to dodge that cursor of death and give them a command and evaluate the situation.

I imagine we'll have to wait for the options menu to work before anything like this can be implemented anyway

Hotkeys are, as far as I know, up to cvet, as they are hardcoded. 2238's developers can't implement some without putting much time into this.

Closed, if someone wants to add something, can answer.

I want a retreat hotkey :P, they run away from whatever they were attackin or attacked by, but are still "following" you. and until you press stop all actions they will continue to continuosly run away.

That would have been be awesome... It's a pain to loose all your guys due to rats spawning close to you and your guys blowing themselves up with RLs.

I just thought about making the same command as now but one per followers, i mean slaves1 have is own classic follower interface (alt) and slave2 have an other one....

So max 5 little movement windows giving order to only one slave, maybe better tto make them move..

I don't know if it's difficult but the command window already existe just give each follower his own !

my slaves enter amongs large groups of remnants of the master's army without showing any sign of hesitation. (although i generally tell them not to attack unless they are hit) i don't know whether they do it for they are such badass daredevils or simply for they are such brainless idiots. a retreat button would be great. anytime i encounter remnants in real time at least 4 of my 5 slaves bite the dust.

What is your rep with Unity? That's why the probably attack. Also, the "don't attack unless hit" only applies to other players, not hostile NPCs.

i didn't know that "don't attack unless hit" command didn't apply to hostile npcs. my rep with unity is  about -750. i think they will keep attacking me on sight until my reputation becomes at least -299. but still a hot key like "run for your lives" would be a good feature. everytime i encounter mutants or brotherhood patrol, my slaves attack them although they are not match and are dead before i can command them to get the hell away from them. so i think a hot hey which makes your slaves stop all their actions and stick close to you would be great.

The best possible hot-key/command/whatever would be "STOP ALL ACTIONS" a command that would clear their minds and stop amazingly dumb actions during TB/RT, in RT they are a bit controllable, but when it comes to TB it's IMPOSSIBLE to make them do what you want, or at least I've failed.
