Title: Walk over knocked down enemies

Why do enemies who are still alive but laying on the ground still block our way? I was doing the quest to join the Raiders and I had to kill that damn kid just so I could walk away cause he was blocking my path. And he wasn't going to move because he was trying to punch me.

Now I'm a fucking childkiller.

Well I think its there for a reason. If you were standing on someone knocked down and then heal that person... he would stand in the same grid as you...which would be similar to dividing by 0 (requires engine changes I guess)

Nice argument. Lag and bugs are there too, why not say they are "there for a reason"?

If they're not dead, then they're technically alive (obvious? Yeah, I know) and still critters. And you can't walk through critters (hence the door-blocking issue). Also what kraskish said would be an issue.

Oh yeah... cause that little kid didn't care about the fact that he was dying and lying on the floor while dying. He would just try to grab my leg as I try to walk away, right? Even when he was just a weak little kid and I was an adult.

Gunduz and Kraskish are right.. Knocked out NPC etc. count as alive (well, they are) and thus you can't walk in the hex they are lying on for reasons Kraskish already posted.

The only problem I see there is some kid blocked his path, so he had to... fix that. Another solution can be pushing bodies. It'll be really fun to see if you may push knocked down/out critters/players, it'll solve problems with kids in doorway +make this game much funnier.
Yea, I know, exploits possible, if someone hit you to negative HP in guarded town, someone may push your body to doorway to make you lose protection... but... well umm, anyway it'll be fun to move unconscious characters.

I see no way to make such things possible. Imagine the situation that someone is knocking you out and moving on your hex position... you wouldn't be able to stand up anymore.

Makes sense. And if unconscious players can be pushed, why do they have to lose protection from blocking doors if they can be just pushed away?

It has to do because you just went "they are still alive you just can't walk over". You could at least say (like someonde did, I think) that it would be too much work for the devs or something like that, and try to convince me. But no, you just went "you can't" instead of trying to think about a way to change it. And I do not think this is too complicated, I remember that in Fallout 2 (maybe in F1 too) you could loot enemies who were on the floor but not dead, for example. Of course, I do not know about programming and I am saying what I think based on what I have seen. If I am wrong about this you can tell me, I will not get mad.

I know that this topic is about blocking path, but if we talking about kids ingame as npc too so Lexx i got question.
Why for example in redding during TC u ve got combat armor minigun and kids dont like u (karma) are fearless and trying to punch a bad man when they knew they will die? Maybe there was some suggestion in past like why on encouter when u are with ur 5 friends full gear plasma rifles miniguns rl , and a group of raiders with spears are trying to kill you ,it s a little bit no sense.

You hit the spot. Like I said, I just do not want to have to be a childkiller because the damn kid is blocking my way and doesn't care he has no hcance to defeat me.

These kids are lacking some trigger script to be "scared" if x people in y gear show up. Agreed that it could be usefull. ;)

If people Retreat in RT Its fucking HELL If you have a Short-Ranged Weapon, Likesza Bloobers. ( Ill be serious ) Its Hell to Hunt 1 Person down for 4 Turns. If you cannot walk over them, keep it as it Is. ( Adding onto the Child running Moment :P )
