Title: increase the -hp before death
Post by: Bulldog on October 13, 2010, 01:25:14 am
So, as the topic says :increase the -hp before being dead. This would bring more rp into the game, such as the "cool thieving" and it would solve lots of problems, such as shooting on sight and then asking questions, I mean that not everyone will finish a person who is -~20-50-99 hp below zero before asking some questions, such as gang name and blah-blah. All in all, this feature shouldn't spoil some bad-ass-kid's-grid-camping-game, it would only result into ~1-2 more shots needed to be fired, you, Devs, could also implement some marker that showed that one's hp is below...lets say -10 (meaning that he's no threat for the attackers and that they can interact before the final blow.

btw, are super stims supposed to kill when you're at -1 hp just as poison does or is it just a bug?

This may have been already suggested but I didn't find that topic.

Yeah, Im for it, in PvP -50 will help to prolong fights and reduce instantkill/crit burst "damage". But hell, no markers. Moreover, NPCs should have the same minus limit as it is now

Well, it would be interesting to make medic more important. More chances to heal, more important such person is, but of course every pvp build has FA so it misses the point, but I support that.

I approve this suggestion.

-50 or mre hp.

But, for other NPCs it should stay -20 right? I cant imagine killing a raider down do -50... waste of bullets :S

I disagree. It would prevent u from seeing that nice animations when u are killed standing. I just love to split enemies in half. ;-)

-20 HP is good

The best is to make negative HP dependable of total amount of HP. I mean something like that - if person have:
250 HP he should have -50 as maximum negative (which is only 20%)
200 HP - 40 HP
150 HP - 30 HP
100 HP - 20 HP
50 HP - 10 HP
less than 50 - no negative HP
This is more logical - more normal hit point - more negative HP.

Sounds interesting, but let the minimum still be -20.

most of the pks (well, all of whom i encountered) doesn't kill you for they see you as a threat. i mean how can someone who is holding a mauser or sledgehammer with 40 hp can be a threat for someone who is armed with a minigun and has about 250 hp? they do it for the lulz because most of them are 13 year old real-life losers who are bullied at school or at neighbourhood. so they kill you at sight just because this way they can forget about the stronger kids at school for a while. so even if your hp goes -99 before death, they may take your sledgehammer and hammer you till you die.

The real benefit to it would be that it would increase the zone where you are able to be saved by a medic. I think Graf was pretty spot on ... Max HP/5, with min -20.

Yeah, sound pretty good, and instants would be less bad ;p.

PS: While talking about instant, i have the feeling I take more instant in head than in eyes (tough eyes still can do insane damage which can be better than instant ;p)...

There's more chance to have it when eyes are targetted. ;)

Ok, so it's probably that I just take more hit in the head anyway ;p.
Another thing about the suggestion: I think it can really decrease PK. I mean, many people are just afraid when you enter in their encounter. If instead of killing, they'd just neutralise you, maybe they will talk to you and, who know, heal you.
And it will add big interest to medic, while I think it's very slow to heal someone in fight if you have not FA (or change for second hand, or long click...), so add a shortcut to use stims fast could be good.
