Temporary actions performed by Game Masters (to fix bugs or to improve the game), that affect everybody, will be wrote here.

Sunday (December 20, 2009) and Monday (December 21, 2009) : Guards were added in Vault City and NCR, to make those towns safer. It is only a temporary solution, as old guards will be, later, improved by devs.

Some of guards in New Reno (including Stables) removed due to possible exploit/bug.

Yesterday and today :
Removed Melinda from Vault City's entrance and Whiskey Bob from Klamath's bar.

Some guards added in Hub. It's becoming a hard town to bomb.

Maida Buckner removed (http://fodev.net/forum/index.php?topic=1135) from Klamath.
Whiskey Bob (http://fodev.net/forum/index.php?topic=971.0) added back, since his quest is fixed (http://fodev.net/forum/index.php?topic=1022.0).
Melinda (http://fodev.net/forum/index.php?topic=971.0) added back, since her quest is fixed.

Temporarly added more guards near NCR's workbench. It should be harder to steal there, now.

Waiting for a official fix made by our dear developers, I added some thugs near the Town Control (http://www.fo2238.fodev.net/wiki/Town_Control) towns' leaders, that are sometimes killed to avoid a town control fight. They are thugs, not guards, so they won't attack you unless you shoot at them or someone in their team (i.e. citizen or town leader) in their range.
Towns where this little change occured :
- Broken Hills ;
- Gecko ;
- Klamath ;
- Redding .

Temporary removed Metzger and some mercs sellers.

Metzger and Merc Sellers are now added back. Their bugs were fixed in the last update.

The guard preventing you from resigning from the Brotherhood of Steel faction in the Lost Hills bunker was removed.
You can resign from the BoS faction in San Francisco or, by then, using the Lost Hill's level 4's computer :

T-Ray was removed from New Reno gas station and will be back as soon as possible.

BoS has been blocked because of guard AI issue (guards killing players on sight).

Added four guards in the Hub entrance, in case they have to fight with caravan guards, so that not all the Hub police dies before caravan guards (Waiting for bug fix).

Disabled all fov related mechanics (engine's default are used) until further notice.

This is the notice, all known bugs that happened upon testing the optimized custom fov are fixed, and it happen to be faster than engine's default mechanics.

The polish subforum got disabled for some time due to excessive use of forumtrolling, flaming and other nonsense. Having a seperate language subforum is a privilege and can be taken away if the rules don't get followed. Other changes apply to the french subforum, which got disabled by request, aswell as the russian subforum which now redirects to the russian section of 2238 on FOnline.ru .

First of all: it is NOT an update.
- many faction name added (Generic Name X), where X is 1-700+
- gathering timeout /4
- crafting timeout /2
- faster base worldmap speed
- pathfinder gives more speed bonus
- chance for rats/radscorps/shit-encounters drastically lowered
- ammo crafting gives +50% bullets
- talk timer *2
- barter timer +15s
Remember, this changes are temporary and will not be a part of next update (which is connected to server wipe, as we all know). Proper values will - most likely - revert to original ones (with some notable exceptions such as wm speed), but this small edit will give you a change to check, how 2238 will look like, if most discussed parts of mechanics are made little "softer".
As you can see, this are small changes that - we hope :) - won't make game unplayable until server reset (what will happen if we start so-called "pre-wipe madness", as requested by lot of players). Maybe something good can come out of that, maybe not. We'll see. Meanwhile - have fun.

Joining the Brotherhood of Steel has been made impossible for now. Hopefully the joining feature will work again as soon as possible.
For those who didn't know about the buggy joining, NCR BoS recruiter assigned you into a wrong faction, and certainly not the BoS. Den and San Fran ones didn't even do anything. Access to all bunkers is also permitted now, people who have logged out inside the bunkers and cannot get out should contact a Game Master as fast as possible.

Hotfixed Advanced Workbenches, it wasn't possible to use them. Currently wrong animation is played when player use it - proper fix will come in update.

The server runs with some debug tools attached to monitor the scripts' performance. This is the cause of the recent lags and is not going to last for long.

All town were regenerated to fix issue with brahmin escaping pens which appeared after last update.
Which means wipe of stashed stuff and hotel rooms.
Never mind, this change will be rollbacked.

Junktown unarmed arena has been disabled.

The update caused bug in client GUI which causes elevator interface to stop working after first use. This bug will hopefully be fixed sooner than "soon".
Until the bug is gone it can be fixed by restarting FOnline client.

There are some small ad-hoc changes on the server in the last days.
1. In NCR bazaar there is a special NPC who gives free XP, so you can level up new chars easily in last days.
2. South of NCR there is new "Ghost Town" location with facility spawning high quality items. This is unfinished place that was supposed to be somewhere else and for different purpose. It was turned into PvP HQ item spawner so you can fight over something and not farm stuff.
3. Next to NCR there is new "Seven Famillies" village. This is a map for unfinished PvE quest, I turn it into a random PvP place for last days next to NCR. In one of the buildings there is outfitter, items given by it will disappear if you leave the village though, but you can use it to defend the village. Beside I'm quite fond of the map, so I wanted to show it. I think it's a nice small map for PvP camping and fighting and even to hang around. I added preview with alternative entrance on the back of the village, so maybe it will be better to camp inside the village rather than right next to entrance.
4. Mayck enabled caravans feature. Caravans should appear in towns from time to time. It's untested and unfinished and prizes are small, but in general the feature should work, so you might check it out.
