Title: Goood Morning FOnline2238 - or, the General Introduction Topic

Hey there everyone, they call me Adalric and I am new to FOnline 2238

First of all this is basically a hello how are you what the forum like topic, I just want to get to know some of the more regular players, where people tend to come together, and all that kind of stuff.

I have played each Fallout up to New Vegas and I just finished Honest Hearts when I came across this little game, it seemed cool so I gave it a go and here I am.

So ya, this is my introduction haha.

EDIT: Im actually using a charecter called "Wearyone" now, as my Adalric charecter was pretty much screwed over haha.

The first replies to this benign greeting are a fine example of the 'upstanding' people of our community.  They're just vocal, however, and do not represent the whole. VC isn't so bad so maybe you should go there (might take awhile if your lvl is still in the dumper) but its a place to start at least. 

Get a tent, you need 10 brahmin hides.  Someone might just give you some in the town, if asked nicely. Just don't beg, that raises the urge to shoot.

All I suggest is knowing the diff between Newb and noob.  We all start as newbs, Being a noob takes work, and effort, to know just how to annoy players and in overall ruin the gameplay for others just for your own lulz.  This game sadly has a lot of noobs, but if you can manage to get past them you might find some great things in this game.  If you plan on becoming one of them please consider playing solitaire, you get the same selfish lulz without screwing things for other players.

i suggest boneyard for pro fo1 fo2 tb fighters and vc for peacefull doctors.
boneyard only have pk trap problem.
vc have only tent follower problem.

i mean this for tb from 9 lvl, when u got better critical. its actually more easy to lvl on mutated molerats, but its pk often nearby v13 and themepark.
any shitty weapon make insta kill often when u got high luck and better crits.

and its very easy to make 3lvl doc and buy flowers from other newbies or gather alone, then make super stims and sell at forum.

cane sugar, and i got fast car, most of time escaping from enclave patroolls and not just simple one, but 5k hp one, so get me ur price, i need money now :O

Life long Fallout fan, love it passionately.

I'm amazed you guys were able to pull off Fallout Online, and you deserve recognition and respect for that. I look forward to meeting you in the Wasteland. ;)

Hi, I'm NurseRatchet, though I play much more frequently on my non-doc char Ferine. Like many others, I am waiting for the wipe but still log on to help newbies or to go hunt high-level assholes. I am most often in NCR seeing if any players need help or looking for people to go adventuring with. This game is full of douchebags, yes, but it also has a good amount of decent people. If you need help in-game PM me or watch for me in NCR.

Yeah, yeah i'm PK scum I've heard it about a thousand times, though i'm not a 12 year old moron like most of them, and can even be a bit pleasant if one decides to have a chat with me.

I can be kind on occasion to newbies, but that's only if I think you're cool. If you're a kid who doesn't know how to spell i'll just shoot you.

I LOVE roleplayers, and will take any opportunity to join in on a good roleplay. Sucky roleplayers, of course will be shot like anybody else.

Also, I hate russians, ALOT. If your name looks, sounds, or smells russian i'll shoot you down. Why do I hate russians? Because I can't understand what the hell they're saying and most of them seem to hate english speaking players, so i'll hate them right back.

Hello I'm Josh Plague, brother of Ben Plague, and I wanted to say hello. If you meet me in the wasteland just ask for help and you'll generally get it, though I might make you play meat shield for me to earn stuff (:D 1 endurance ftw!). I am not a huge fan of random PKers, trolls, griefing thieves, blue suit harassers, etc etc but if you're a cool person I might let it slip.

I am also not a huge fan of the ruskies, and I feel compelled to add that Eastern Europe tends to be extremely homophobic so if you get killed by them just sexually harass them and they tend to go away.  ;D

Played the first two games, came across this, figured I may as well, don't like thieves, don't like purposeless PKing, pretty much like 70% of the rest of the people on here.

Thinking of starting a gentlemanly faction for gentlemanly players, but that'll have to wait until I've accumulated the requisite cash for a base.

Hello. New player here. Stumbled upon it by accident. Played and adore both Fallout and Fallout 2, skimmed through Fallout 3 and New Vegas, not really enjoying them at all. If we meet out in the wasteland, I'd probably get killed.

I am new here and must say I like this game! I loved Fallout 1 and 2, and liked FO Tacs.

But I must say its very different here. You can´t just go and explore the world, because everytime you do and enter some place on the map with a green circle, there are always those playerkillers :/ And there are so much questions left.. so if someone here has much experience and wants to share it, please feel free to contact me :)

Still I like this game and perhaps there will be a time I can do more then collect junk and make some bullets of it :) Really want to explore the world.

Hello everyone.
I'm kind old player (Started in 2010 january about 2 or 3 days after my birthday.. my birthday is at january 7th)
I think everyone knows me ingame with names:
Crugo, Derry, Bioe, Combative, Macko, Macken, Mackona, SteDon.. and some random names :)
What I really enjoy play is HtH character (Of course, because of easy leveling, but also good tank)
I wait for wipe and some updates for HtH builds :) Mine build is already perfect, but wipe changes everything.. trust me.

And yes. I'm base raper. Maybe it was just for fun, because I didn't care about stuff (Another base stuff I just dropped at NCR lol)
I really wait wipe and to make my new "plans" working :D

Hi fellow wastelanders.

I'm Aladdin from France, a huge fan of the real fallout serie (1 and 2, the others shouldn't be named fallout to me). Anyway, I lurked the forum and the wiki a lot waiting for the ''wipe'' to start playing. I'm enjoying the game so far but it's still  hard to know some basic stuff but I guess that everyone been there.

run with a sledgehammer through junktown get killed and looted by junktown guard because of this.

Hi! Loved every fallout game so far except for the ps2 disaster and fallout 3. new vegas is special to me.
I played now a little and its harsh but it does make fun, if you can learn by your mistakes. Never run with a weapon equipped in a guarded town for example.
Ingame: ilmatadore or Egeria (yes the queen of the tok'ra /stargatenerdmode).

Hello everyone im David. Im new to the form but I have been a huge fan of the old fallout games (Fallout and Fallout 2) since they came out back in the good old days. If I could have any game I wanted that was half MMO and half RPG fallout online would be it in a nut shell.

Hi everyone, this looks like a good place for a first post.

I heard about 2238 while it was down earlier this week but have been having a blast since getting online. I'm an old timey Fallout fan, naturally, and interested in the more anthropological side of the series. I'm curious how the rp is here but no stranger to pvp either.

I'm a design student, long-time EVE player, 2d fighter player and avid record collector.

I searched - didn't find anything about these...

The Leather Helmet MKII's description refers to a way of connecting a radio to it somehow. Do we have any info on this? I tried using a radio on a helmet - didn't work. I'm wondering if this would be a way to use the distress call without having to put a radio in weapon slot 1 or 2. Or if the radio itself permanently integrates with the helmet so you don't have to carry a radio at all (since it's in the helmet now).

Any info?

about me:
I love to trade and fight against npc.  SO yeah i have a crafter called MRtrader which is my main.
training a secondary heavy weapons guy.
I often visit the website.
i don't use drug builds.
played all fallout games. besides vegas and that weird one called brotherhood  ??? something (no i don't mean tactics)
planning on leveling up a little first so i have something to offer to a faction.

also i made a suggestion in the event ideas for a treasure hunt with everybodys has shovels and searches dirt piles for the treasure. but no one responded to that  :'(

Hello, I'm JimmyHats, not such a big fan of grammar or anything like that, (you might even begin to tell after a few sentences). anyway i enjoy fallout II immensely and i found this while snooping around for some fallout 2 mods. After reading this guide i can see that this game is filled full of trustworthy ::) characters who definately wont abandon you to the radscorpions and take all your stuff.

PS: are there any enclave patrols?

also previous Q&A and better to waste time around with some french, they are most peacefull and ok players, which not gonna rob you after they helped you and etc (like ncr trolls) and some small gangs, which like to make new members and then rage and insult each other after some time (because of shared stuff), you can see that at gang issues from time to time or at irc.forestnet.org at 2238 channel

also #2238help is good way to find out answers for questions, there is few gms, dev, and some moderators, which can answer almost all questions about fonline

My name is Charlie and when one of my friends suggested I try out this game, I decide to give it a go. After a While I found out I liked it a lot and I found myself enjoying it Fonline, just as I did with F1 and F2.

In a nutshell, yes. Although snipers have changed a bit (check the Fallout Character Planner). And now there's a lvl 24. Perks and traits have changed a lot. And the system for having followers has changed.

There is no need to show you.Troop meeting point is in vault 15,you will see server message while logged on.But be careful,without a proper ape,the event is hardly enjoyable,i guess.

Hey all - I thought I'd give this place a try after hearing about it on the other game I mainly play. I've always been a big fan of the Fallout universe, so knowing there was a fan driven engine mod to make it work online, I had to take a look!

Contrary to reputation, I've had a friendly welcome so far and a great time (although I expect someone'll decide to splatter me with a missile launcher sooner or later - no biggie) . I think I'll level up a few times, and then see about helping some more newbies like myself.

Hi everybody, just started playing today and, I'm wondering: How do you retain players? I've spent maybe an hour in game and I've been pk'ed, and killed by "non-hostile" vault city guards. Is this a game balance issue, or is there something that i missed in the advice for newbies section of the wiki? any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you were killed in Vault City, you probably tried to enter the inner city, which is only for
citizens and people with day pass.

In encounters keep your weapon in 2nd slot when you travel and don't come too close to
the NPCs, or they will turn hostile. Also remember sledgehammer is a weapon.

The game isn't really that hard, you just need to know what can kill you, the issue is that
very often it's not obvious for a new player.

Guards will shout at you to hide your weapon, but they give only a few seconds to hide it, so
I think it's better to keep it hidden. You can press "B" to switch between item slot 1 and 2.

Ah right. You definitely don't want to loot anybody if there are non-hostile NPCs in there,
not until the combat is over.

You have to wait until they finish looting, then you can take whatever is left. Don't do that
near players either (if for some strange reason they didn't kill you right away) if you don't
want them to go apeshit, looting someone you didn't kill is basically stealing.

Figured after a month of playing and also using the info on this forum it's time to introduce myself :)
I wish I had found this game earlier – it seems I came in at a bad time..
Anyway I like the game so far, although it seems pretty grindy :P
Still on my first char since I don't have so much time to play but I already have been told ingame that one char isn't enough.. ::) But I guess that's one of the Fallout games characteristics, playing them over and over and over and I like it.

So hollas to all of you, especially those who are active, see you in game^^
Oh, and thanks to one player who's name I sadly can't remember...Few wekks ago, female char, went hunting centaurs with me to level up, thanks again lad/lass ;D
