What the hell can you do with a toxic rat?... other than troll your cat... once.

It-s kind of useful.Rat pelts are good to polish shiny metal armors, while toxic rat are poisonous throwing weapons.

[...] while toxic rat are poisonous throwing weapons.
Do they work on the same principle as this cat-launcher does?

It's a low quality vid, but it holds the essence of the cat-launcher idea.

And other than mere esthetics, ¿why the Hell would you polish your armor? That makes it shiney, making you more visible, making you an easier target.

This is fallout not the real world, metal mk2 is shiny.

Shiny metal armor is reflecting laser beams.

Obviously almost none if you here never played some old tla :D

Were they throwing animals there too?

... Ok.

... Ok.
Modern mirrors are created mostly from processed traces of aluminum (or in some cases - silver). Mirrors reflect lasers, as lasers are nothing else than very highly concentrated streams of light particles (photons). Thus, if you can make your metal armor out of aluminum and make it so shiny that it essentially works as a mirror, you have 100% laser resistance.
Besides, there have been numerous attempts at making a perfect camouflage out of mirrors designed for wide area combat (like a desert). So, if you make an armor that is made out of only mirrors, you reflect the light of all the nearby environment, thus making it look from afar that it's just more sand or grass. So, very roughly theoretically speaking, you could say a mirror is the best camouflage given the right circumstances.

Uh... No. It doesn't work. It just make what is there look like something else. It also reflects the other light sources around causing it to shine.
BUT... It would make lasers reflect more as well, reducing that damage.
BTW, yes, I am aware that lights were installed on some WWII era aircraft (bombers, IIRC) in an attempt to make them harder to observe. It was effective, but wasn't followed up on for some reason (¿radar maybe?).

As said, it's all very theoretical and in fact is highly impractical.

And thus, the real point of my objection... It would work, sort of, but certainly not enough to make it worth the effort, and the downsides would be far more burdensome.

You could feed a poisoned rat to a floater in a quest.

Ah... Now, ¿what kind of fool keeps a floater as a pet?
