Bethesda made an announcement today on his Twitter page with nothing more then their famous loading screen, but is it really true ? Is it coming for real.. !?

Plotwise, it just can't be even more retarded than F3, though I prefer it over NV in terms of visuals. Too bad both games are hardly RPG's...

New Vegas is one of the best RPGs of recent years. Probably directly followed by Pillars of Eternity.

It looks to me like the game runs on the same engine Rage did. But hopefully that's not the case since we all know how that game turned out, From the looks of it, this one will be the closest to the old Fallout games in terms of graphics and atmosphere. I got high hopes for this one, and I'm eagerly awaiting some gameplay footage from E3. Anyway I'm gonna go celebrate this with hookers and blow. Cya!

It's the Creation Engine. You can see this on the animations, world detail and stuff like lack of shadows.

The graphics modders will be all over it anyway. Or maybe it's just a strategy on their part, they showed ingame footage with oudated graphics and maybe closer to launch they will add higher resolution textures or smth. But even if that won't happen modders will still create new textures for everything and make the game look nicer. What bothers me is why they went with this slightly cartoonish aproach similar to Bioshock.

Fallout 3 and NV is popular regardless of any previous games. You can't blame Bethesda for their own approach because this is bound to happen. If you want classic Fallout - Play Fallout of Nevada. It's awesome, refined, old school and lore friendly.

MCA didn't had a huge influence on New Vegas anyway. He wasn't doing much on PoE either. Obsidian is more than just three people.

Wow! A sandbox with building! And customizable gear! And vehicles! Much more than i expected.

Yep. Same could be said about Baldur's Gate or Torment, yet somehow someone thought continuing down this path is a good choice and made/will probably make a good game of it (Pillars of Eternity, Tides of Numenera). Only Beth is clueless and made Fallout a fps with rudimentary rpg elements and retarded storyline.

That's why i mentioned this. Having a dialogue "wheels" is ok by me, and since all player replies voiced, there is a way to avoid oversimplification. BUT devs may narrow down all unusual and complex side quest responses in favor of storyline voicing. Modern devs love rails and one-time games. That's why i am concerned.

I thought on the screenshot it wasn't about the wheel but about the lack of choices - the answers are the same thing with slightly different flavor...

I guess they wanted something like Witcher's dialog system which is good but doesn't fit to Fallout.
