Title: Games to comfort us
Post by: Enzotainment on June 07, 2013, 08:35:13 am
If the end is true and nearing at a blinding speed, what games will you be playing?

I can say for myself I'm exploring:
- Marvel Heroes
- Fonline TLA mk2
- Maybe Diablo 2 (not LoD)

Seems like such a sad bunch of options compared to the lawlessness of 2238 :(

Well I guess I'll go on DayZ after I get my new computer.
Only thing that resembles FOnline...

Well, bloody hell, if I could remember the last time I played 2238... Actually do remember it, and was thinking of coming back after a "little" pause, but I've kinda lost any motivation now (not a surprise, ey?).

Probably will play:
 Dota 2
Terraria when the new update hits

Probably will do:
 Create an experimental RPG
 OR
Try to mod Mount and Blade

Atm. is not worth going into DayZ the ammount of gay hackers is tremendous. Better wait for the standalone to be released.

Well it's certainly as grindy.

I found it too easy, it's just a grind fest, no real point to anything, but it is really well made from what I saw before I was spent with the grinding.

Grinding.

No one tried Marvel Heroes yet? It's free and sort-of fun. If you like the cartoonish gameplay.

Lol'd. But you gotta admit, IWBTG is a hell of a game to build up your persistence, dedication and nerves of steel... Either that or to end up in a mental institution.

Yup, it's the game of trials and errors, you work so hard to get past one part of the game, bam next screen fucking spike kills you.

And for you guys that like wastelandish type of games, check APOX on steam its like 4€, its some kind of RTS with wasteland theme.

Playing independent HL2 mods as usual. The only viable games nowadays are mods.

The developer came back after a quite large pause and said he's going to release a PC update. Asked on the forums what people would like to see, etc. Said it's coming out somewhere late June, early July. And no, Starbound is NOT a sequel to Terraria.

Official video by Redigit himself of him just mucking about.

Hehe, yeah. Crimsonland is the best in that area.

I think I even found Fonline 2238 through a post on a Crimsonland forum.

Try Shadowgrounds and Shadowgrounds: Survivor if you already hadn't. It's a decent survival game with plenty of carnage, but also with a storyline to break the monotony of endless slaughter.

The only developer left from the Terraria developers is the sprite artist Tiy. There's nobody else from Relogic working on Starbound.

Anyone played Faster Than Light? for me it was one of the best games I played in the last few years.

Apart from that: trying out TLAmk2, at first seems dumb with this slaver camp where you earn gold for working, and the replication thing is not so apealing, but everything else seems really good, I love the quests, crafting, high level cap.

But the games I would really like to play are not available yet: Starbound, Half Life 3, Wasteland 2

Anyone played Faster Than Light?
Haha, i remember when all devs & gms was playing this one ;D I like it even more now, after most annoying issues has been fixed and whole thing optimized, so it runs even on my shitty PC. Too bad it's so damn short... maybe this one (https://github.com/thomasfn/ftl-overdrive/) could be for FTL, what FOnline is for Fallout~ if it won't die, that is :P

Ehm... according to steam I wasted 115 hours to get all achievements on Normal difficulty (it would prolly take less if i didn't get them all on easy first, though).

But only because you are replaying it over and over. I didn't replayed it very often, so I am with Wipe here- it's too short.

I was hooked on it until I unlocked every ship in both layouts. Took me over 100 runs. Fun game and nice music too. But yes, it is too short. I'd like to see this modded so it's open ended and perhaps a mmo? Could be interesting.

CyberJesus, have you heard this saying? "a pieace of shit sprinkled with gold is still a pieace of shit" this is accurate for people who enjoy fancy graphics even if the gameplay is boring. I have nothing against good graphics but there are more important factors.

Have you tried..Zafehouse: Diaries? Pretty fun game.
http://www.zafehouse.com/ I really suggest to check it out.

It's pretty much text-based game with Zombies, you get 5 survivors and scavenge stuff - food, weapons, tools n' much more. It's pretty hardcore when you run out of food and you don't have many weapons.
The graphics aren't the best, but yeah you played Fallout 2238 so it shouldn't be problem right?

I played it alot of times, I managed to 'win' only twice. (In the second gamemode).

And to be honest I pirated the game since I really wasn't sure about it, but a friend told me about it - said it was really good - so well, I pirated it. And since I liked it that much, I purchased it later.

What?  :o Really?
2000 players per map, 6000 players per server.

All Alliances fight at the same time.

The game never ends, it's an eternal war.
You need quite a computer to run it, the HW requirements are too high for me for example.
I have i5 cpu, 7950 gpu, 8GB ram and its ok
Last time I heard that never happens because most servers are underpopulated for whatever reason.
I play it from the beginning , i play on EU server Cobalt. And at night its like 3+ battles with 45+ players per map (and of course a lot of small fights 12v12) but map is realy big and server have 3 different maps. When a large clans join its like 200v200 or more  ;D.

But when the count all players on the map, it is enough.
