Pretty nice idea. After all, the basic system is very similar. You just spawn and despawn mercs with throwing pokeballs- not a big deal. The only problem I'd see is how to control the critters in combat. Maybe the player should get direct control over them and use them like a player character is used right now. I could think about quite a few workarounds to get that done, but it's some fiddle work.

With 3d model support, it isn't even such a big deal to create new charcters and creatures.

I'd say such a game is definitive easier (and more interesting) to make than a "FOnline: Whole world can be traveled" game. :>

Idea personally isn't such a great one, I mean, Pokemon in a Nuclear wasteland?  I mean...  you could make a bunch of shit up saying the radiation made them....  I mean, there are Fire geckos afterall.  But to have so many mutated creatures.

Doing a similar thing like this takes 5 minutes in photoshop, it's all about resizing, cropping, adding drop shadows to the pokemon sprites etc.

Would be funny if someone would make a real game like that, not just some fake stuff. Especially because most of the technic is already in the game... It just needs quite a lot new graphics.

Throwing a pokeball to spawn mutants seems to be a little bit out of the games scope. But from a technical point of view, I doubt that it is hard to do.

If for tamed deathclaws you mean the V13 pack, they're not tamed, just intelligent.

The only thing I remember Wanamingos doing in that game was biting my face off.

Super mutant boss in Mariposa(Malichior if i remember well)

he spawned 2 deathclaws, 2 fire gechoes and 2 aliens i think,(forgot sine i killed him after he summoned the 4th animal)

I'm surprised I forgot about him actually. I remember getting fustrated at this exp bonus you could get by killing all his monsters before him. He has some dialogue that's actually quite reminiscent of the pokemon franchise.

I killed him after defeating the enclave, he took one shot in the eyes from my gauss rifle from the distance, i didint knew he could talk  ;D

EDIT: They were small animals whose evolution was forced with the FEV. Not tamed. Just had the encounter again (this time without gauss ;D)

Wow this actually gave me a really good idea for a new item in the FOnline game. An easter egg of sorts that they should add.

It's called the Prototype Humanoid Containment Sphere, or P.H.C.S. (Pronounce if as fks if you're really so inclined), and it looks just like a plasma grenade, except somebody did a shoddy job trying to spraypaint it white and red. Basically after an enemy is already knocked out you can throw it at them and if it hits them, they are put in the containment sphere.

Then when you get in combat with somebody else, you can throw it at them and bloody giblets explode out of the sphere.

It would work exceptionally well when used with dogs or children.

I think i could really give it a try because i hate damm pokemons and would enjoy baking few with flamer or burning with plazma. And PvP with all players looking like fuckin pikachu might be lovely. Just no connection to Fallout setting and i wont feel offended.
