It works in 1280x1024. Personally me play in 1280x800 and 1280x960

That's why I'm ok to play with 1024x768 global. Too much hassle to make WM screen for every resolution. Don't worth it.

You may ask Ras to make 1280x1024, he is the designer of all mod except main panel.

Few small fixes.

Dialogue answer now fit 9 lines, not 6 - don't suffer communicating with mercs.
Change End Cmbt|Turn buttons, now I hope they o'k with all style.
Included faction[1280x1024wm].ini for those who wants to have full size global map in 1280x1024. Just rename to faction.ini and replace it.

All included in v12 - just re-download

Ras made a marvelous interface, simply the best. Of course, except main panel and 1280x* resolutions support, so I remade it to perfect state (on my taste, surely)

But I don't like his blue version at all. Green text on blue does not seem nice to me. And it is not "Fallout-ish".
So I'll stick to green. But anyone feel free to upgrade it to blue. All you need is GIMP editor - it is freeware and have nice helpful database.

As for menu image, first I really do like APA look (you may have noticed :)) and second it is really classic look of Fallout. (Btw Ras' menu image is brilliant too, I wonder where did he get it :) )

O'k. Seems our dear developers put some changes on engine, and now it works properly with 1920x1080 resolution.
As soon as i can, I'll try to upgrade my mod to support this resolution.

O'k what am I going to do for my interface mod:

1) world map and pipboy will not longer indicate date/time - sorry, but we got "?" button for it.
2) Health will be transparent and HUGE, I think it could be useful during hot firefights.

Big HP counter would be really good. On the other hand, removing time from pipboy and wm wont be much of a difference. Moreover, AC doesnt have to be displayed on HUD and if it would be possible, to have big Ammo counter somewhere and the same with CRIPPLED sign (having it somewhere, where will you surely notice it)

O'k there's a limitation - AC is exact the same font as HP. I think no one want to have HUGE AC, so AC will not be. (I used it to control armor det too, but...)

I never get the point of controlling your armor det: I check it only before fight (when I have all my time, and usually on WM) and after (same thing). No need to have it with same visibility as crucial info as HP/AP. Even if you're armor begin to be deteriorated during fight, you won't be able to change it on battlefield anyway, right?

Not exactly, I rather normal HP/AC/Det, because I like have EVERY number in game (like for example time on world map)... It's just more functional for me, then cutted numbers -.-

I don't know whoever (and what for!) need date and time on global map. However, having more noticeable HP and ammo was requested many times.
Yet it is the only solution (FOCD is forbidden  ;) )
But anyone free to choose, that's why these fonts will be in addons, not the main mod.

 Now interface will be developed in 2 versions -
TB edition (accurate small fonts, indicated date and time in pipboy and global)
RT edition (get important info during firefight easily, no indicated date and time in pipboy and global)

Fixed this + made some adjustments (reduced a bit ammo font in TB version)

Just re-download v18

.....

One more thing regarding RT edition - I don't like how HP and Ammo indicators look together. Almost the same color, but different transparency, sharpness, font. May be it is better to make some contrast instead?

Anyway, you don't need to enter pipboy to know date\time. Just press "?'

O'k. Seems I don't have more ideas how to improve combat interface further. At least yet.
Now it's time to modify some menus created by Ras.
First, character screen.
1) One thing I always hated about perk list - you cannot see 2 traits and 7 perks at once - fixed
2) OK button had very narrow press-able zone - fixed

Second, inventory
1) Never liked Ras' armor and item slots. Was too transparent on my opinion. Also, change item slots size in inventory so now it match item size on main interface panel.
2) 10 items visible at once is too little. Now item list has 16 lines instead.

If you like old inventory, there's no need to upgrade to V20. You can use previous version instead.

Anyway, I've decided to stop modifying Ras' interface and I'm making my own version with black jack and hookers (however using Ras' elements like buttons etc.). It looks kinda different.

I like pretty much this translucent interface at characters sheet, inventory that let you see big amount of stuff stack there, but not too much the bar down below, too much vivid for a postapo environment, but still amazing.
And a thing is missing, the o'clock at the pip-boy.

The combat interface is salt and pepper of my interface  ;)
Yes, I realized that it pretty far away from classic rust and wires style, but you can roleplay even this moment  ;)
Consider it as a trait - some lucky mutation lets you always keep an eye on your health condition, ammo left in magazine and your weapon's wear!
Hell, even vendors show you more stuff at once, and thieves will never close to you unseen!

No clock in Pip boy and global map. Seek for the reason of it in this thread.

Nice work. My biggest complaint with PEIv2 is that there is no "archives" button in pipboy. It could be very small, because it's rarely used, but sometimes I need to read a datatape written by a player and I don't want to switch interface only to do this.

Regarding radio:

Ras made excellent "real radio" menu, however 1 thing bothered me always - it does not look like  2043B
So I decided to something with that. God damn radio took much time, about 5 variants were scraped.

Thanks do developers, now we have hotkeys for aiming. Which is HUGE advantage for RT fights.
So I believe SCOPE-like (copyright  Bantz) aiming screen is no longer needed.

TB is kinda another story. I like to shoot people and things in TB. One thing I missed is cool "wire-frame" images of your enemies.

Ras' scope is still included. To enable it, you need to open faction.ini and find this section.

It's hard to move on the nort-west edge of the map. On the barter screen I sometimes can't drag and drop the items I want and they go back to the owners inventory.

Sure, it requires some zooming, but nothing impossible. However you can limit map edge if you wish to.
Open faction.ini, scroll it to almost end. Then find lines responsible for you resolution. For example for 1280x800 it will be:

Actually it's not a bug. Just aiming screen is little bit bigger then 600 ;)
Still usable without any fix in 800x600

I was always bothered by empty space under the chat window. And end cmbt|turn buttons are too small for my opinion.

Lol, it much simplier! Fonts are workig on requiem. Do not put them into fonline.zip, just put them in \data\art\misc

Soon enough I'll make an adaptation pack  for v7 (for TLA and Req)

Frankly, I've red this as soon it was implemented. But I can not understand what advantage or simplification it can give. Anyway for different chars I use different client copies. And btw all they have 1 interface :)

Thanks  :) What was truly implemented by me first-of-all-moders is that BIG font. But I still can understand old school default interface users. But if it was little bit more comfortable, my mod would be not invented  ;)

1) Some small things on registration screen

Yes, but only in intrface (because devs made "normal" worldmap and I'm sure that they don't want to change it). To do this You have to change this:

All that depends on server and client revisions I believe. 2238 perfectly support up to 1920x1080, TLA have issues with worldmap and requiem uses pretty old revision of Fonline client with different ini structiure and poor hi-res support.
So nothing to do with interface mod
World cannot be included in client, it depend on servers as well

Wandering the global map suddenly I understood that I never use town buttons. Never.
They cool itself and very nice tradition. That's why I left them in place when designed Evil Global.
But... May be it's better to get rid of what I don't use anyway and instead center global map panel?

I'm all for it. It's useless on the high-res anyway, coz you can easily scroll thru the map without of any difficulties.

Wish we could change main fonts color at least...
However my mod works like minimap ) at least at high res. Even on 1280x* you can zoom out to full map width.

And here another 2 thoughts:
1) If you travel by car, you definitely don't directly to location. You go somewhere near or not so near to park the car
2) If you travel by feet, it's way better not to travel in town to town route, considering PK.

So decided, town buttons will go away.

Make the panel below like the main one so that when there is a message i.e. somebody is taking a town, it will not be covered by the panel. Same for Requiem because there are messages on top as well.

If old one is in FRM I think, that it's possible (do you remember era of "unknown items in fridge"? there was animation of opening lockers, etc...)

You can make inventory main picture in FRM instead of PNG. And animation will be played infinite times.
However FRM format has some limitations - does not support alpha channel (you cannot make semi-transparent elements) and limited palette

IMO more logical will be have 1 big panel between 2 small. But again, not sure...

3rd composition more usable, imo, landing at very bottom; 2nd combo usable a lil less than 3rd, but more logic. 1st combo hard usable at all, for me, as a right-hander, for example.

Not sure what country you are talking of.

I'm using this http://db.tt/r2SpgZd to upload and share files.
Very comfortable. Just put file in the "Public" folder on your computer and copy and paste link. And easy to update files and synchronize between my computers and have some shared folders with my friends.

If you have problems with download let me know.

What exact you want to download? If it v9, you better wait for release version.

I think combat/turn/end are invisible until you enter combat mode in last version. Also, have you read the text file? You have to replace some ini files for requiem.

Fonts for Requiem are not in fonts folder. They are in data\art\misc

Looks like you have not unpacked misc folder from Pure Evil Interface v8.rar
Fonts for requiem have different file names, not like in /fonts folder.
Make sure you have those files from rar archive in your misc folder:
\data\art\misc\fnt_big_num.bmp
\data\art\misc\fnt_num.bmp
\data\art\misc\fnt_num.fnt
\data\art\misc\font0.aaf
As for black stripes on worldmap, it's Requiem client limitation. If map area is under other interface elements, requiem client ignores buttons.

This is intended. Because text position determines active area of target screen. Actually you can press whole this area for eye-shot.

1) At last! Big buttons for change weapon and inventory. Now peaceful buttons are grouped to left, and "used in combat" to right. Makes sence
2) Redone AP meter from scratch. Now looks more smooth and accurate + now you can customize highlighted AP marks
3) Redone BreakTime indicator (incication when move or perfome actions)
4) Removed "X" exit button. You should not exit FOnline  :P
5) For TLA: now global map have full height (no black stripe below interface) as now buttons work correctly
6) "You cannot lead this group" now indicated above, not below as in v9 global map interface  ;)

How to change AP meter:
1) Open *.ini (faction.ini for 2238; default.ini for other servers)
2) Find this row

3)Change it to what you needed as below:

i just downloaded v10 and i can't understand how to use end combat/turn button
it appears when combat begins but i can't press it because mouse pointer just go underneath it and not over so i can't click that button and dunno keyboard shortcuts and F1 does not shows them
there are E and T drawn on that button so i tried to press them on the keyboard but since nothing is changing on screen i assume nothing happens
so now i just can't end combat or turn
any help here?

edit: well my bad
it actually works after all you just need to switch mouse pointer mode one time after the combat begins (press A on keyboard for example) and you're good
if you don't shoot anyone just standing there watching your default mouse pointer going under the end combat/turn button but you still able to press those if you hit the right spot
after you changed cursor just once everything works fine

i slightly modificated Pure Evil for myself to make message box wider and a little more changes that made interface in my opinion more comfortable in HD resolutions. never tried 2560 because my lcd panel only support 1920 as the modern most common resolution like 1024x768 was in y2k
as were said to me many times in other topics such an old game was not intended to support anything higher that 1280x1024 and even 1920 causes many glitchs because maps are drawn for low resolution
if i had a monitor that could show 2560 i would try to naturally add support but anyway first post says "800x600 to 1920x1080" and my "mod or the mod" is just a little change of main interface and nothing else
may work somehow in 2560 though

Great, thank you! I combined yours with the blue shift and now it looks great. I'm playing in 1280 x 800. The one thing I noticed is that the chat panel (panel1024 and panel1280) is positioned over the HP by default, when the info window isn't expanded, so I had to decrease ConsoleMainPicY to 32, and ConsoleTextY to 37. Other than that, it works really well.

well first of all i surprised my thing worked with Blue Shift... are you sure you didn't change anything beside that two values?
i never investigated how blue shift is built and was going to do so and add package for it but unfortunately my raid5 died and i lost all my data, so now i'm pretty busy trying to restore it.
anyway i suspected blue panels are made by replacing original graphic files with the blue ones, and i haven't done mine in blue color so...
i'm\d really like to know HOW you obtained such result

about consoleMainPicY and textY: yes, i moved console to the right and yes, it's going across health counter if you don't expand the panel
that's why i made version B with original placing copied from original faction.ini
it's in factionB.ini that should be renamed in faction.ini if you want contracted message box
in green version everything worked fine... i believe :)

In v11 I want to play a bit with layout to make less mouse hassle while manipulating objects.
And change style of buttons, to make it more "cyberpunk" or "high-tech"
Scrolling buttons are revised as-well and now  they are got green glow.
Circle shade added to give more integrity to the screen, not sure I will keep it or not.

Btw, teoretically you can change this "Steal" image, etc (because it somehow doesn't fit for now to this interface), but you have to look how "fofrm" looks like (it should replace frm if defined as I think)
If you want to change it you have to look at this directories (both in master.dat and in faction.zips):

Thanks. I kinda thought about changing perk pics, but scraped this idea because:

1) servers compatibility (serevers can have different perks - pain in ass to sort this out)
2) perk updates - new perks, etc, again - pain in ass to sort this out

So I prefer not to touch in game content.

By the way v11 is approx 75% complete. However there are many small things to sort out.
And I don't want to release it without new main menu wallpaper... Have not found something worth to be used...

oh :) I got it - you've reduced the size :) But what Ras and I meant - this thing is out of F1 2 lore and belongs to F3 :) what I wanted - to remove it completely :)
And I will need 1920x1080 picture in this case.

You have to care only about pictures. Text are provided by a server (if you have sdk look at Server\text\engl\FOGAME.MSG)

By the way, may be you know how to replace "ALL" from split screen with spaces. I don't want this "ALL" to be drawn, but it is impossible to disable it with faction.ini. I beleive i need to modify some text file, but don't know where is it located

It's because I cannot make font for ammo and det. with outline. Without background on some terrains digits were not clearly visible.

It's known issue. Unfortunately if filters are inside active barter area, left click causes window to stuck.
The only way to fix this (without developers work) is to move filters block down or to the right, but it will ruin window logic.

Thank you very much for such a nice tip! I thought 2nd armor slot is for helmet, and useless without 3D PC. Does that mean 3D chars will be implemented after next wipe???
I mean in that case I need to prepare 3D reg and char screen as well...

Or can you specify what exact the name of that slot. I mean "Helmet" or "Equipment" or something else?
I bet you cannot put 2 CA on and double the DR :)

just downloaded and equipped on my flash drive install, it is AMAZING!! I love being able to see through the screen and the fix boy holds more per page which is nice because the ammos and the alloys/metal parts stuff is all near each other. Only request is that there be a make 10 button but if thats illegal or something its still crazy good.

But until then, I have created my own quick-fix. And thought about sharing it would be an nice idea.
All I did was changing the inventory picture, so there are now two armor slots. And I added a new font for the HP.

Install:
1. Download the zip file.
2. Extrackt the "Pure Evil Interface - Post Wipe Patch.zip" to your FOnline folder.
3. If you use "Pure Evil Interface v13", rename the "invbox-nospin-high.png" to "invbox-nospin-high_x.png". Its in FOnline\Data\Art\intrface.
4. Delete the following files in \FOnline\Data\fonts:
   "Numbers.bmp"
   "Numbers.fnt0"
   "BigNumbers.bmp"
   "Special.aaf"
   "SandNumbers.bmp"
   "SandNumbers.fnt0"
5. Change the following lines in the "faction.ini" in FOnline\Data\Art\intrface. (InvHead is new)

After wasting about 2 hours, I've got the inventory working, though I still can't see the HP indicator. It looks like the problem is in Numbers.bmp and the BigNumbers.bmp. the Any clues on that?

Yeah, thats the reason why the new font is included in my download. The "Numbers.png" & "Numbers.fofnt".
Problem is, I missed to mention that you have to delete the Old "Numbers.bmp" & "Numbers.fnt0" in \FOnline\Data\fonts.

Pure Evil Interface v13 and v11 have diferent ini settings. You can't use one ini file for both versions.

Maybe you didn't read that you have to edit the "faction.ini" in FOnline\Data\Art\intrface. Not the "default.ini". At least in FOnline 2238. ^^

The main problem is, that no matter how much I try, I cannot download these files. It would be very nice, if you'll upload it to the mediafire.com, dropbox or some other open and free file hosting, that doesn't require registering to download a file.

If some one is interested, I updated my Post Wipe Patch (http://fodev.net/forum/index.php?topic=13003.msg173161#msg173161) to version 0.3. You can use it until Eex releases the new version of his great interface mod.

Changes:
• Bigger font for ammo counter & deterioration.
• Weight limit is now visible in inventory screen.

I like the new look. Especially the new white borders, they fit more to the overall skin as the black ones.

But two things bother me when I look on the screenshot.

It's for saving mouse movement. I do prefer to grab weapon|nade|reload|take lockpicks etc. Putting on armor less often.

However don't expect much from new version, because previous was pretty much perfect in my opinion :)

I did something, don't remember what, now every time is working normal but srsly slow about loading game and closing (sometimes i must even close in harsh way)

had some RL interference but i did what you said today annnd:

- When i deleted the 2 special files, i couldn't even enter the game
- When i deleted the 2 sandnumber files i could enter but it was like i said before, when i try to reach the area with my items, the game crashes
- When i deleted the 2 numbers files, everything works!
- When i deleted the 2 bignumbers files, same as first one, crash before loading game

Very nice UI anyway, think i'll use it even if mutilated a little bit.  :)

i have the same problem, it work on my other old pc that has windows XP but with win 7 i get crash unles i use fonlinegl. The only way to play with normal fonline and this interface its delete the fonts like stated above :(

Please help, I'm not sure if it's due to Pure Evil Interface v14 or not, but it seems to happen when I use it. I still get crashes rarely when I don't use it though, but very rarely.

Hi, thank you for the update. Sadly, it has two flaws for me.

1.) When i click on filters in barter window, the frame sticks to cursor. The only way to unstick it, is to leave barter frame. This was in v13 also.

2.) I don't like the placement of WeaponSlots and Description in the Inventory frame. Do not see any benefit in that. Please tell me, why that change. But i guess i will use the original one, even though it does not have transparency.

OK, I've made some adjustments to the code to fix the Eye shot positioning problem mentioned earlier and detailed in the pic below.

You need to edit the default.ini file found in the intrface folder and look for this line:

AimEyesText=0 0 599 780

and change it to:

AimEyesText=177 110 599 780

Bear in mind that I use a 1366x768 resolution and it looks perfect on mine. Can't say how it would look on other resolutions but I'm pretty sure it will work fine.

First 2 numbers is (x,y) of top-left corner and 2 last numbers are (x,y) of bottom-right corner.

Well people can play around with the numbers as they see fit. I just provided the codes for how I personally like it.

Also, the positions are not exactly uniform. Check out the groin shot for example.

Yeah it works fine, except for the alignment of the eye shot text position, which I've shown how to fix a few posts above.

Download the file, in the rar you will find 2 folders, intrface and fonts.

Drag all the files from each of these folders into the data/faction.zip/fonts and data/faction.zip/art/intrface folders respectively.

Overwrite the files when it asks you.

FOnline.exe will probably stop working after you do this so you need to start using FOnlineGL.exe. Check out the best resolution your computer can handle and manually edit Fonline.cfg (with notepad) and edit these two lines and add your resolution:

Anybody know how to delete the world map interface but keep the menu? I like the interface but the world map interface allows me to click through the menus and move my character when I'm switching windows in window mode.

Hi, your modification seems very nice, but somehow it doesnt work for me. The box is empty and counters are shown in default way as vertical doted lines. Any idea what may be wrong?

Open the config and go to Combat tab, there you can change the 'Ammo amount and deterioration display' back to Numbers and save it. That should do the trick.

For a new crosshair I recommend the Custom Crosshairs mod 1.0 (http://fodev.net/forum/index.php/topic,974.msg7779.html#msg7779). It has a good selection of crosshairs in diferent colors.

Could it be possible to make the dialogue window broader? I understand that a narrow window allows you to see better what's going on around you, but the mod offers a good level of transparency already, and those narrow windows makes it kinda unconfortable to read, at least that what happens to me. Just a small suggestion. And what about the trading filters (Weapons, Armor, Ammo, Drugs, Other)? Any special reason they haven't been added yet?

EDIT: Btw, I guess you will be including your new cursors in any upcoming update. Is there any way to disable them while keeping the rest of the custom interface's mods? Not that I don't like your work but imo they don't fit in the game, aesthetically.

Hm, I don't know. Maybe for higher resolutions. What do you think, how much bigger should it be?

What do you mean? They work fine. Use the right mouse button to switch between them.

Just delete the actarrow.frm, hand.frm and wait2.frm in data\art\intrface.

If the dialogue window was about as broad as the original one (only considering the space given to text, not the whole picture with the vacuum valves, the speaker, etc.), text would be much confortable to read, imo. In the case of the short text seen in those screenshots it's all right but when it's some longer text, for example quest dialogues, I personally feel it unconfortable.

Once again, this is just a personal opinion.

Thanks for the answer about the custom cursors, and nevermind what I said about trading filters. :D

But the main problem is; I would need to change both, barter and dialogue window. Because both of them use the dialogue screen/menu. Therefore I can't simple change the dialogue window. To make it work, I'd have to recreate the whole barter window. But I don't want to change the look of it, so idk...
