We would like to invite all small gun pistoleros for "The Bad, the Good and the Ugly (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXldafIl5DQ)" Gunslinger Tournament.
Time and place:
The Tournament will take place on Sunday July 4th 2010, in a specially prepared location on an island.

The start time of the event according to different timezones:
08:00 Pacific Daylight Time / San Francisco ( GMT - 7 )
11:00 Eastern Daylight Time / New York ( GMT - 4 )
16:00 British Summer Time / London ( GMT +1 )
17:00 Central European Summer Time / Paris, Berlin, Warsaw ( GMT +2 )
19:00 Moscow Daylight Time / Moscow ( GMT +4 )
23:00 Far East / Beijing, Hong Kong ( GMT +8 hours )
Participation:
To participate come at the start time to Vault 15 IN ARMOR, WITH AT LEAST ONE SMALL GUN PISTOL AND AMMO (at least 50 bullets, to win the tournament you will have to kill 6 characters in 3 gunfights). Players will use their own gear during tournament.
Allowed armors:
- Leather Jacket
- Combat Leather Jacket
- Leather Armor
- Leather Armor Mk2
- Standard Purple Robes
WARNING: Bluesuits are not allowed. This is supposed to be Wild West - style tournament, not some pajama party.
Allowed guns:
- 10mm Pistol
- .44 Magnum Revolver / .44 Magnum (Speed Load)
- Desert Eagle .44 / Desert Eagle (Exp. Mag.)
- Needler Pistol
- 14mm Pistol
- 223 Pistol
WARNING: If you lose fight, YOU LOSE THE GEAR. It's up to you if you want to have better chances or risk less stuff to lose. You can bring more pistols if you are afraid it will explode. NO GEAR WILL BE SPAWNED OR REPLACED BY GAME MASTERS.
WARNING 2: Players will start gunfights in range of 24 hexes from opponents. Remember Magnum Revolver has smaller range.
Allowed chems (drugs):
none.
First 27 players who will appear at 17:00 GMT+2 in V15 will be transported to the Tournament Arena.
If more than 27 players will be in V15 at this time, participants will be chosen according to the:
1. Experience level they have (the higher the better)
2. Weapon they have in hand (the more expensive the better, only pistols allowed for the tournament count)
3. Character ID they have (the lower the better, which means older characters have better chances if everyone has 21 lvl and 223 pistols)
The Tournament:
27 players will be randomly separated into groups consisting of 3 players. Each group will fight separately inside the circle. Watch "The Bad, the Good and the Ugly" final showdown to get the idea how the gunfights are supposed to look like. Each fight will look like this:
1. 3 players stand on the hexes surrounded by rocks
2. They hide their guns in item slot 2 (they must have empty hands before the gunfight starts).
3. Game Master standing in the centre of the circle shouts "BEGIN!" command. After the "BEGIN!" command" players inside the circle can move and shoot opponents inside the circle.
4. To win a gunfight you have to kill both opponents, in any order. The one who survives goes to the next round. He can take the shovel and dig caps from one grave.
5. People who will die inside circle LOSE ALL GEAR AND CAPS THEY CARRY, INCLUDING THE GEAR THEY BROUGHT TO THE TOURNAMENT.
There will be 3 tournament rounds in total. In the first round there will be 9 gunfights of 27 players. In the 2nd round there will be 3 gunfights with 9 winners from round 1. In the last round there is only the final fight with 3 winners from round 2. Players will be healed before every fight.
Prizes:
The winner of each fight will get a shovel and will be allowed to dig ONE grave. In EVERY grave there is a hidden treasure (caps). There is 100 000 caps buried in total, different amount in each grave - from 200 to 16 000 caps (also some graves are empty). Also items of people killed during tournament will be put into graves after each gunfight. Only the winner of the tournament can keep the items he dug. Additionally, the winners of gunfights will get:
for winning 3 gunfights (whole tournament): PPK12 Gauss Pistol + 200 * 2mm EC
for winning 2 gunfights: 223 gun + 150 * .223 FMJ
for winning 1 gunfight: 14mm Pistol + 100 * 14mm AP
The prizes don't add up (if you win tournament, you will get Gauss Pistol only, not the other pistols).
Rules and punishments:
- Attacking people inside the circle by someone outside the circle will result in immediate and permanent BAN and putting the player's IP on blacklist.
- Attacking people outside the circle by someone outside the circle will result in immediate 14 day ban and putting the player's IP on blacklist.
- Stealing during tournament will result in immediate and permanent BAN and putting the player's IP on blacklist.
- Bringing a shovel to the tournament will result in immediate and permanent BAN and putting the player's IP on blacklist.
- Trolling, excessive spamming textbox will result in 24 hour ban.
- Beside that all standard rules apply. The tournament will be protected by GMs and NPC guards.
Banned players (or player who logged off) will be replaced by other players waiting in queue outside the tournament or, in the worst case, by random bluesuits kidnapped from NCR :P (in this case they will get only Mausers and Leather Jackets).
IF YOU WERE ATTACKED OUTSIDE CIRCLE, DO NOT REACT - ATTACKER WILL BE KILLED BY GUARDS AND BANNED BY GMs. YOU WILL BE HEALED/REVIVED. DO NOT LOOT OTHER PLAYERS.

Thats right, its not about the reward, its the fun you are having there what matters. :)
Also, gotta say I love it. I was waiting for such a thing forever, as I consider fallout pretty much a scifi western.

I like smoke and it could be hard to don't drink anything in summer and for one hour or more before end of event ;p

There will be guards in V15, if someone will come trolling with plasma nades or dynamite it will be the last time he will be on this char. V15 will be event location until everyone will be teleported to the ares copy, and event rules will apply there to.

What about the guys who are addicted to something? Will they be cured of addiction so they can participate properly, must they simply suffer the withdrawal duing tournament, will it be a temp cure just for the event, or will they simply not be able to participate?

It's gunslinger tournament not who is the biggest druggie tournament. They will be able to participate, they won't be able to take drugs during event. Addictions won't be dropped. It reduces chances of addicts, but they are mostly high HP PvP snipers anyway, so it rather evens out chances between them and fast shooters who would normally have 0% chance against guys with criticals, 200+ hp and on JET+Psycho.

I think opponents should see each other before the fight starts, after it starts you won't be able to enter the sneak, so no.

For now it will be without any drugs/consumables, maybe next edition will be different.
Players will be fighting at small/medium range, so PE shouldn't matter much.

Amount of caps buried in the graves was increased to 100 000, max amount is 16 000, minimum is 200 caps and 20% of graves will be empty (there will be 50 graves in total).
Also, to clear things out: there is no looting of people after you killed them during gunfight. Instead, the stuff of killed people will be buried in random (not dug yet) graves after each gunfight. If any gunfight winner will find it in a grave he/she dug, he/she can keep it and use during next gunfight (if it's a better weapon etc). The winner of the tournament can keep all stuff he dug.
Remember all drugs/consumables ARE NOT ALLOWED inside event location.

Sounds like a damn well-rounded thing. Also the western-like background idea appeals to me very much.

I don't get it... So, if two friends meet in a triangle the third man has no chance cuz they'll kill him first for sure. A fair tournament would be a 1vs 1, no friends, no runing around, just skill and of course, luck.

3 people will be picked randomly, so the chance to have 2 friends in a group is rather small (about 1%). And I didn't write anywhere some dirty alliances in the triangle aren't allowed. In fact they are part of this tournament. You can do whatever you can to kill 2 other people, as long as all you use is your gun and brain. But there will be very little time for this and any pre-event settlements make little sense, because you will not know your opponents until the fight.
On a side note, please remember the event might take about an hour, maybe a little more so make sure you have this much time.

Not two friends in a triangle, just one, so the third guy, no matter how good he is will die first. The chances are low at the begining, yes, but later, when only the best players will remain the chances are actually very high, the best players know eachother. This is not a dirty alliance made in the triangle, it's a fact so any newer player that will come to this tournament will lose gear for sure without any chances to win. I am not asking to chance the rules or something, I am just pointing to a fact.
Anyway, one more question, no chems means no stimpaks also, right?

Players who know each other very often hate each other. They can't be sure what the other will do during the gunfight. It might be actually a chance for a newer player. And that's what will make it interesting.
If any of you don't like the rules or are afraid to lose your precious pistols and jackets, don't come, plain and simple. It's an event for self-confident gunmen not for some trembling scared sheep. You can win a lot, so stand like a man and grab the opportunity the fortune is offering you. In the end there will be only one winner. I don't want to hear any more whining about unfair rules. Rules are the same for everyone.
Stimpaks are not allowed, using first aid and doctor is. The only items you can use are in the first post (+ammo).

wow i wish i was level 21 already with aimed shots lol im a level 19 with fast shot, 9 Ap's... i wonder if i should bring my 14mm and partake? You think this is worth it without aimed shots? If its a question of speed then im in!

Apparently GMs think people with FastShot can own with single shot without aimed.
I can't remember which one to specify though....

No, you can't loot enemies. All items of people who die during gunfights will be buried in the graves. If you find it, you can use it in next round (better gun or armor etc). If you win whole tournament you can keep everything you carry.
