...and Jovanka has cured the blind...
- Added possibility to customize color and position of combat messages and verbose actions
Absolutely one of the best changes ever made. Thank you! We red/green colorblind people can now see damage points during combat, something that people have asked me about so many times, but i never can answer since the default red has always been so tough to see. Bright glowing green now - i can see! I can see!
-
That wasn't me, but I fixed several small text bugs.
-
Since I did nothing, I can say...
Good job devs.

When wipe?
Never i hope.
-
When server up ?
-
Damn it now my Brahmin cart's engine is broke, can't you guys fix anything without breaking SH#T. J/k. Good stuff guys, keep it up, love the fixes.
-
Good stuff, especially the text customization. :)
-
So you update hinkley and yet don't fix the int requirement or add the missing ammo types, thanks for nothing
-
Hinkley is finally fixed, great job.
-
Thx for works

When wipe?
Soon (http://fo2238.fodev.net/wiki/Soon)
-
Good job, moving in the right direction all the time.
-

That's a big one that I never considered, since I'm not colorblind. Now that I think about it, it's a pretty awesome update just for this reason.

True, that's like (friendly ;)) slap in the face, honestly i'd never tho about that when adding mentioned customization - i'll keep it in mind for future client changes.

Then i must mention this: when i move my mouse around to highlight different hexes on the ground, the hex-highlight color is red. Red is very dark so in many cases in this dark game, it's not easy to see where my mouse is.
Now imagine you go into TC like that. You zoom as far out as you can to see as much as you can, but all the details get smaller as you zoom out. The smaller the details on your screen, the more easily you totally lose where your hex-mouse is. Not much room for error in TC, so yeah, if this could also be a customized color, big improvement.

It's dark? I've always seen it as a very bright red. You have some eye condition?

I can't seem to figure out how to set the damage color back to red when someone gets hit, I don't like this new green damage.

I am healing them (Green :p) with my molotov explosion.
Edit: Open fonline2238.cfg and at the bottom put this:
[Messages]
DamageColor=200 0 0
Save it and run the game, the damage will show in red again like before.

Some nasty bug sneaked in, it should be fixed now and red by default. It's best to restart client if you was ingame during applying ninjafix (9:44)
-
Thanks, works like before now, red by default.

For now, try to mess with art/geometry/fallout_*.* files; never tried, but they look like thing you're looking for.

updates - at least something is going on.
still waiting for udpate with changed tc zones, modified maps and NAMECOLORISING ;)
-
still waiting for udpate with changed tc zones
I don't see any suggestion thread with any propositions of new zones sketched.
You want people who don't do TC just change it randomly and hope it will be better?
modified maps
This was done already not so long ago.
-
...
Jovanka, let's talk about ... namecolorizing, so you gonna bring it back? Yes? ARE YOU?

http://fodev.net/forum/index.php/topic,25805.60.html
Remember that players want it, so why don't you deliver it?

Sorry most of people, including me are just tired of suggesting things what developers are not intrested.
ok i ll try again :p

yep few things were added but some of maps still need changes, like gecko (old reactor for example) or klamath (traper town)
-
Just make all city like one TC zone instead of grids(and +50 hexes from it) and buildings and it will be ok. And give more possibilities for new tactic and pvp.

i been thinking about it. there might be one small problem - camping grids. for example right bottom corner of brokenhills
-
+50 hexes
+70 maybe, not a big deal.
The most important that all city will be able for game but not small part with 2-3 famous tactics for fight...
-
Good job devs.
-
Maybe someone should think about new objectives like from last event? This one with capturing flag in Shi base was great.
Namecolorzing should back...

At least while capture zones were disabled people discussed it alot.
And why aren't you even mentioning Colorizing?
Hiding personal agenda behind alleged common interest?

Hiding personal agenda behind alleged common interest?
Reminds me of.
Jovanka, stop throwing latin verbs around, it's just your own opinion placed above everyone else.
and ...
http://fodev.net/forum/index.php/topic,25805.msg218457.html#msg218457
-
And why aren't you even mentioning Colorizing?
Because colorizing was discussed thoroughly already and I have nothing more to add?
And both of you don't seem to have anything valuable to add either.
-
I don't need new facts. The ones i have should be sufficient.
Also: ad hominem (latin once more, fuck yea) is not working here.
As if it would only be Trippletrolls and my Opinion. You are the minority here and you know it.
-
The fact is that minority has the biggest share in this business.
-
Well, see it this way: Killing NameColorizing was one of the things Izual issued, right?
He was also THE one GM that hunted down dualloggers with never resting rigorousness. You stopped doing so and what happend? - Exactly.
Maybe, just maybe he is full of poo-poo and all of his ideas should be reviewed. When you took away NC it was said to be a tryout.
You tried it for 2 or 3 seasons now, people are either mad or not affected. Stop trying please.
-
I would put together my own name colorizing list, not rely on someone else's.
Its really quite simple this is an MMO, a 'game' that has many players/alts. There really is no argument agianst not putting NC back.
Serioulsy.... there is no argument, put it back.
I should instantly be able to tell if a player i meet is an unsavoury character.
If i cant judge there demeanor on there apperance, it would be handy to have a colorizer.
And so what if i use TTTLA/BBS name colorizing list. If i use any of them its because i trust there judgement.
ROLEPLAY: I arriive at TTTLA HQ, they inform me of unsavory characters in the wastes, i go to them because i trust them.
Serioulsy.... there is no argument, put it back.
-
It's pretty clear their weak RP arguments don't convince the players because the gameplay and roleplay benefits are way higher, but sadly the devs whom decide don't play the same game as many of us and don't seem to understand our points, despite the numerous times we tried. It's sad but I pretty much lost all hopes to see this great feature back.
-
That's pretty pessimistic. ::)
Personnally, i think that each new changelog has 50% chances of bringing back the namecolorizing.
Then, seems that the 50% other chances took the upper hand... :'(
