Awareness upgrade

 Awareness could show how many AP has targeted player. => As a player, you can choose the target with less or more AP, similar to HP like now. =>More player skill than build skill in PvP

I suggest we scrap awareness, but keep the mouse hover-over status Awareness provides - Almost Dead, Wounded, etc.

A world without Awareness would be a much more interesting one. You'd have to actually make a tactical decision when you encountered a stranger in the desert - do I feel confident enough I can take this guy? It keeps you on your toes. You don't know if that punk in a leather jacket has 40hp and a sawnoff or 180hp and a sniper rifle. And he doesn't know the same about you. The mystery makes it feel that little bit more real.

To me, that's a good thing.

I 100% agree with Badger. Awareness takes out much of fun of the game imo.

my suggest: awarness perk shows players hp, lvl, special, skills tagged, AP points, drugz, shoe size and age.

Now awarness is ok, dont change it.

 I think that it is neccesary for snipers. It is kind of countermeasure to stonewall perk. Stonewall perk is now almost neccesary to all BGunners and even laser snipers, so possibility to choose your victim with lowest HP (or different) is realy good. It brings more players skill element instead of pasive build skil.

 AP of victim is something more, but if i know, that i could be killed by 2 bursts, the knowledge of right time to counter attack could be difference between death and life. It could be the way, how worst build without most powerfull gun could chalenge more powerfull build.

I agree with Badger BUT I think we should always be able to see what weapon the other guy is wielding. Two reasons:

-this will be true with 3d figures after all, why not with the 2d sprites?
-I think it doesn't go against realism... I mean, you would know if that long arm the guy's wielding is a shotgun or a rifle, and you could see if it has a scope or not, etc... Maybe you need to be at a certain distance to see the weapon? maybe the radius increases with higher perception?

Ok, there are 2 aproaches:

 a) realism = in real life you cant see HP (heh) of enemy

 b) gameplay = get more information about your target => choose best possible tactivs => killl him even if he has stronger build than yours

  Real human player combat skill should have bigger impact on result of combat than pasive, SPECIAL build (avatar) abilities. = This is what i want.

 Current Awareness + see how many AP target has so i could choose right moment for "Hit and run" tactic to maximaze my one hit and minimize the possibility of geting counter shot/burst from target.

awarness is for snipers , mostly
that should show rather wich arm is crippled/blinded - that cna be handy

Agreed, since we lack the graphics for differend weapons. I mean if we had 3d game with 3d models for guns and characters we'd surely be able to see whether someone is holding sniper rifle or tommygun.

Against, let's not make awareness too overpowered (however, if AP info would be available to everyone, then it would make, as Lordus said, players skill > build).

And yeah, let's remove awareness and kill everyone because we'll be afraid of dying against a (level 1, but we didn't know) bluesuit. :/

i think, more info about weapon without awarness can add high skill, if you ahve 200 sg you see difference shotgun - sniper rifle, right?

I think it works the opposite way. FOnline players are gutless. They don't like fights if they're not definitely going to win, and they're definitely not going to risk their current gear on an opportunistic fight out in the wastes if their opponent could have 200hp against his 100hp.

If you're not the kind of guy who guns people down in cold blood, not being able to see other people's HP isn't suddenly going to make you into a bloodthirsty maniac.

If you're weak, you already know that you can't hold your own in a fight. And so if you see someone else in an unguarded town/encounter/whatever, you'll run away from them anyway. Nothing changes for them.

If you are this kind of opportunistic killer, things are just more of a gamble for you. You don't know if the other guy is a threat or not, and that's what creates more interesting situations. Rather than seeing a guy has half the health you do, shooting him and leeching his remains.

What happens at the moment is that you can see your opponent's HP, and immediately know whether you can take him down or not. If you have a lot more HP and a better gun, you shoot him. If you don't, you run away.

There's a reason most games don't let you see your opponent's HP.

Awareness is fine as is, its a trade off of making your char better at combat/survival vs tactical information.
