Targeting Shortcuts for PvP and RT Combat against
« on: August 29, 2010, 01:29:17 pm »

Dont you have the feeling that targeting is a bit clumpy ? that doing aimed shot on a running target when having lag is nearly impossible? well the solution would be to add a "plugin" which has 3 diffrent ranges : close medium and long range. with 2 diffrent modes target neutral and target marked enemies. this could work with shortcuts like on a qwertz keyboard like  g h j and b n m g h j for close medium long range enemy and b n m for the same but for neutral threats... and after that you hit a key on the numpad 4 is arm left 6 arm right 2 groin 1 and 3 legs 7 eyes 8 is the head.. it would make combat far faster to aim and less like a hectic clickfest.. if you dislike the idea of keyboard keys for target aquiring i d suggest a more intuitive mouse control.. you just hold down the mouse key and drag it like you want to select items on your desktop in an area and if there is one enemy in this box you tip on the numpad for an aimed shot or just space for a normal shot and b for burst... target keeps selected until you select another one.

it should not be a plug in but a mode which should be implented into FO 2238... it would help the game a lot...

Hololasima have you ever seen someone play WoW? You have "shortcuts" on your screen where you can use special abilities, it's totally legal and makes WoW actually playable. FO2238 lacks such a feature and that's why people used 3rd party programs to instant aim for the i.e. head. Adding such "buttons" (or keybinds) would help RT combats a lot since fiddling around with the aiming takes too long for a sniper compared to a BG guy simply bursting you to death.

A 3rd Party Program is illegal cause not everybode uses it and makes a unbanced situation... give everyone such comfort options which are standard in every other game... man you need to make aiminig easier sometimes the movement of your enemy is unpredictable because of lag and there is no way to aim for him or not to say aim for his head/eyes? i find that rather annoying when the game cripples options i wanna use because there is no chance to get that thing done due to lag... being able to aim properly and select a person you want to shoot for sure is a must ! and doing the aiming faster than in a menu which was used in a TB game in an RT game is suicide thats why Fallout 3 introduced the VATS system..

Dont you have the feeling that targeting is a bit clumpy ?

It's because it was designed for turn based combat.
