To allow players which are using same radio channel to meet each other on World

Aryan:
Given Radio channels can be a possible 5 digits, thats an awful lot of possible combinations and factions would have a certain amount of security when broadcastingion their posit to allies. Other faction discovering their channel and ambusing them would just be another form of espionage and cant say it would be particulary easy to obtain.

Yeah. I wanted to check a radio before I used this argument to see how high the frequencies went. I doubt any faction is going to sift through every possible combination. Even if they find a channel someone normally uses, they may not even be broadcasting on it at the time. And even then, it would require some decent knowledge about whoever you're trying to ambush. If someone said 'COME HALP I AM BEING ATTAKED', just asking 'Who are you?' would cause it to fall apart pretty quickly.

Too many extraordinarily unlikely things would have to happen for an ambush to happen, let alone be common. The most people could do is dupe new players on common channels.

Frozen Mind:
Minimum radio frequency is "0" and the maximum is "34463". So if it's not fake there are 34464 channels, and the probability to catch signal in simple case (one player, one radio) is 0.003%. Most frequencies are useless, but if you use smart number it's still hard to get encounter. Besides it would appear for few minutes.

There could be SOS button, what would work only in active slot. If someone drops it/puts into the equipment/dies/toggles it off the encounter location disappears.

I and my gang would use it in PvE.

Ganado:
Sounds good to me, but an Outdoorsman of 100 shouldn't be necessary. Maybe a little lower.

Of course, now that I think of it, fights wouldn't last long usually, especially in real-time, and the person might not even get to them in time if they are more than a few blocks away. But it could work for just relocating each other without having to get together again at a city.

Let's imagine this idea is used by a PK gang - dozen of gangsters, all 21st level killers and armed to teeth - to lure the inexperienced or lone-wolf players, miners or even smaller gangs by calling for help, and when their prey joins encounter, bringing them down easy.

Isn't that the same at Modoc, Den or Klamath or every significant crafting location?
The player has to outsmart the PKs with experience, strategy, teamplay, right timing and perhaps some patience.
Concerning locations in Wasteland, you can get a hint in message box, a "town preview light", depending on your Outdoor skill and Perception points. "This place smell like death."
