Rare resources mining & crafting terminals

If these things were implemented for boosting player interaction and cooperation, it doesn't really work. People generally go to mines with just a sledgehammer and hope they make it.

I think much more fun if players needed to cooperate to get rare resources and to craft better gear, even having to fight on the way.
So I suggest there should be new locations, for example long deep caves or canyons where at the end is your desired mining/crafting target.
This way is acessible for brahmins, which would be necessary to get the resources, since they would be very heavy (200kg). This would prevent just people running in and hoping to survive - not worth for 1 resource, also being overweight doesn't add to your surviving chance...
Gathering cooldown should be minimal for these resources, because the point is you need a big party to get them, and you shouldn't be needed to do them every 20 minutes... So you would need some people with decent charisma who could bring as many brahmin as possible to carry the resources and a big defense force, because (who would have though) these places should be heavily camped by PKs.

Now I guess for some of you it might seem like this would make our wasteland even more blissful for PKs, but not really - even if they would manage to kill all of you, they still have to reload all the resources from your brahmin they had to slay, leaving them vulnerable for everyone.

Maybe for the really valuable resources or crafting stations, the notice would be shown to all players online so it is even more challenging, with NPC raiders coming to kill all :)

If the whole thing was made as a quest fitting the fallout lore (with repairing generator etc stuff), now that would be really awesome...

this way you will boost only big gangs (or maybe big alliances)... loners or small gangs will be pretty fucked up... I can use my trading company as an example... we all are crafters/traders, no PvP chars... so when you limit mining zones and crafting zones to PvP only, then we can close our shop immediately, because either we will not be able to mine ourselves or we have to buy resources from other players - yes, we can try to buy resources from other players, but when you have to use whole gangs as security for mining trips, then I am afraid, that no one will be selling resources or the prices will be too high...

Believe it or not, FOnline needs situations and places that can't be ruined by other players. It'd be nice to assemble a group - say a mechanic, a doctor, a diplomat and a soldier - enter a place, have everyone's skills be useful, work your way through a PvE area and get a decent reward for it. And not have to worry about people camping the exit.

Yeah I agree with that - but that is for quests with instanced maps, not mining.

Enzo: As I heard from devs, they want to suppress "hermit crafting" in safety of your tent/base anyway, so there is not much hope for safe crafting/mining. It is not like you can't pay some other gang to do the dangerous mining for you. If there are no safe crafting terminals then that hope is lost of course. At least with what I suggest it would be more fun and multiplayer...
