Player tracked suggestion list
Sius:
I'm BACK!
Finally I've found some time to check FOnline once more. And I want to finish what I've started here. So here is what I have so far:
http://www.fo2238.fodev.net/wiki/Player_Tracked_Suggestion_List
And here is why I come to you:
- should I use same formating as I did here at forums (= suggestion name, date+author, status)?
IF not then:
- should I use tables or what kind of formating would be best for wiki?
Also I'm thinking about how I was sorting the suggestions. There are few main categories but some suggestions simply can't belong only to one category. What I did here on forums is that I've taken suggestions in each post and decided how to categorize it by its main point. So if you suggested 2 things in one post and each of them would (if separated) be in different category, then I've took the major suggestion and sorted the whole post by it.
But with wiki I'm thinking about something like tags for suggestions. Either text tags at the end of the suggestion or images.
Current formating:
Combat medic - long range healing! [May 11, 2010 - Sius] Unknown
With text tags:
Combat medic - long range healing! [May 11, 2010 - Sius: game mechanics, combat, medic, weapon] Unknown
So we would still sort suggestions by its main point but we would be more specific about what is the whole post about. So I'm thinking about creating 10-15 tags that would help us describe suggestions and then we could use 3-4 tags as additional description of each suggestion. And I think this would be best if the tags are added to suggestions as images(icons) to what they represent (something like forum achievements in my signature).
So what do you think? Should I keep my formating or should I come up with something new? And what about tags?
runboy93:
Those tags are great help for new players that try to find something in wiki.
Do you need help with write those?
Sius:
Well we should make a list of things that can be suggested here and then create preferably a one-word tag for them. I think more than 15 tags will be confusing so 10-15 should do the job. When we have our tags, someone could create icon for each of them so we could use images instead of text. Images take less space yet they still hold all the information as text tags (in "alt" description) and they are easy to recognize during fast-scroll through suggestion list.
But only downside is that with image tags we won't be able to ctrl+f search for them, but thats imho just minor flaw.
And yes I would be glad for help. So maybe you could post your list of tags and then we will see whenever the 15 tags is enough to additionally describe every suggestion here. Then we can see what we can do about those icons.

Oh This would be amazing, It should be craftable and could be traded, But you would have to make sure removing the backpack from your inventory while wont cause your weight to go back to its original state and you have a overflow of items or you would just have a backpack that can't be traded. Maybe models could be made for it too :3

It's there, already ready to use since 1997 and Fallout 1, but it's bugged. :P
