So by hostile you mean unprotected? If so, no, because if you did something to make you be unprotected, such as steal or kill someone and got away, you should know if you are unprotected or not, and if it is related to any bug of still being unprotected after death, it is just a bug and a feature shouldn't be implemented just for that.
And if by hostile you mean unprotected due to being Vilified, then it's your fault for doing bad things to become Vilified, and you should check your reputation before going into town.
