Change Town Control times
« on: January 11, 2010, 01:09:49 pm »

At the moment, the town control times are in Europes prime time, all times +1 GMT;

Gecko         11.00-12.00 (4am TX time)
Modoc        15.00-16.00 (8am TX time)
Redding      18.00-19.00 (11am TX time)
Klamath      19.00-20.00 (Noon TX time)
Broken Hills 20.00-21.00 (1pm TX time)
Den           22.00-23.00 (3pm TX time)

In order for players in the western hemisphere to play during Town Control time, we either got to stay up really late, wake up really early and ditch school/work.

So I suggest, we have 6 towns which can be controlled, so why not spread them all out, with 4 hours between each TC session? Times in GMT;

Gecko          00.00-01.00
Modoc         04.00-05.00
Redding       08.00-09.00
Klamath      12.00-13.00
Broken Hills 16.00-17.00
Den              20.00-21.00

That way anyone around the globe will find a suitable time to go for a town control somewhere. At the moment we only see the european gangs fighting for the towns, namely BBS/DA and Cajuns/Orphans/NA.

This would encourage the asian and american gangs (I know you are out there!) to try and join in on the struggle for control of the wasteland.

Well, maybe for Russian people this is good, but 0:00-1:00 many people has work/school so nobody will go to gecko, it would be controlled by people from west. 4:00-5:00 only people from west again. 8:00-9:00 maybe only people who gets up early and don't have anything better to do. 12-13 well it is better than previous times but still people are in school/work or people from west are sleeping. 16-17 This time should be kinda ok for most people but people from west are in work/school right? 20-21 it good hour because everyone is free and people from west has afternoon already. If you change a time it will suck hardly for many people, but you should change time of Gecko and Modoc taking to later hours. That's my opinion.

Only people from west? No, people from anywhere but europe time zones will have great opportunity to take these cities.

16-17 This time should be kinda ok for most people but people from west are in work/school right? 20-21 it good hour because everyone is free and people from west has afternoon already.

There will never be a perfect time that suits all, but why put all the town control times in europes primetime?

If you change a time it will suck hardly for many people, but you should change time of Gecko and Modoc taking to later hours. That's my opinion.

At the moment the only town I can help my faction take over is Gecko, and that is at 4 am my time. By moving that town to a later time, I can no longer help with any town control sessions.

While you seem hesistant to change the times, maybe because you are worried PvP will go away?
A change in TC times will allow more people to PvP, and the battles will surely be more intense.

I have seen factions skip a TC session just to bore the opposition out, to make it easier to take the next town a few hours later.

With 4 hours between TC sessions, the european fights for Klamath, Broken Hills and the Den will be real intense, who can forget the massacre of NA at the BH bank? There will be more of that as availability for town control goes down.

Some of the current european factions may have members ready to fight for TC late at night, and may find themselves opposed by completely different and unknown players from non-european factions.

While the europeans fight for Klamath, BH and Den, americans and asians and aussies and god knows who will vye for the rest.

What about 25 hours long control cycle? Modoc at Day 1: 00:00 - 01:00, Day 2: 01:00-02:00 etc.

What about 25 hours long control cycle? Modoc at Day 1: 00:00 - 01:00, Day 2: 01:00-02:00 etc.

The problem with this is that you can play with town control for about 5 days and after need to wait about 20 days (if I have'nt make any mistake... of course it depend of when you play and how long).

IMO, 13 hours long control cycle every 3 days (maybe more, maybe less) should be a good start to let every one enjoy the TC.
Whyevery 3 day ? in order to let faction to fight, then make revenge and finaly the last battle.

That means for exemple (with the curent TC time):

First 3 days cycle:

Gecko         11.00-12.00 (GMT +1)
Modoc        15.00-16.00 (GMT +1)
Redding      18.00-19.00 (GMT +1)
Klamath      19.00-20.00 (GMT +1)
Broken Hills 20.00-21.00 (GMT +1)
Den           22.00-23.00 (GMT +1)

Second 3 days cycle:

Gecko         00.00-01.00 (GMT +1)
Modoc        04.00-05.00 (GMT +1)
Redding      07.00-08.00 (GMT +1)
Klamath      08.00-09.00 (GMT +1)
Broken Hills 09.00-10.00 (GMT +1)
Den           11.00-12.00 (GMT +1)

Third 3 days cycle:

Gecko         13.00-14.00 (GMT +1)
Modoc        17.00-18.00 (GMT +1)
Redding      20.00-21.00 (GMT +1)
Klamath      21.00-22.00 (GMT +1)
Broken Hills 22.00-23.00 (GMT +1)
Den           00.00-01.00 (GMT +1)

...ect

Maybe someting good will be to have some TC in the morning, other in the afternoon (with the 3 days cycle describe above)... dont now.
