What is your biggest love and biggest hate of FOnline?(Wipe continuation)
smoothjesus:
love: playing fallout with other players
hate: 90% of the other players
--- Quote from: JovankaB on August 05, 2010, 01:01:38 PM ---My biggest hate is that the game has so little to do with Fallout / Fallout 2 - they were great, immersive role playing games with interesting quests and characters and stories and the wasteland really had a feel of living, consistent world.

hopefully the dialogue contest will bring some of that back.. even though you probably won't get to appreciate it if you have to read them all.
Badger:
I love that one of my favourite games of all time is still going after ten years.
My hate? The Fallout skinned, resource gathering deathmatch. I want the experience of Fallout 1/2 with other people. I don't care about most other players anymore, I have meaningful interactions with about 2% of them. Even though I insist all towns should be guarded, it takes about five minutes of standing in the NCR to make me froth with hate.
Yeah, I know,it's a lot easier to complain about games than it is to make them.
Kilgore:
+ Fallout as MMORPG
+ realtime PvP
+ great maps
+ many various features
- nothing to do, absolutely no surprises when you travel around the wasteland, everything is by the book and well described on wiki, interaction with other players most of the time limited to the exchange of ammo flying with high velocity
- The Settlers:2238 placed in post-apocalyptic world
- forcing players to craft ammo ("ammo should be scarce" pfff waste of time)
- no penalty for death
- GMs pretending to be gods and princesses of 2238
- GMs used as helpdesk and banning tool, all of their interaction with the players are slaps and murders of the guards here and there (but there ARE some examples, just too rare to consider them satisfying)
- PvP broken by swarms, swarms + high HP militia, and various timers (TC timer, drug effect timer and so on)
- full loot makes most of the people caring about their precious items too much
- game is too hard for newbies and too easy for those who have played a bit
- cars are useless
- the ability and the necessity to use alts, even for such simple thing as adding to many bases (about 57 000 alts atm while few hundreds of players online)
- blueshits everywhere
- TB combat
- field of vision
- namecolorizing
- deleting content from the game (no skins, no C4, few rare items)
- joining NPC factions is only to get a profession, sometimes you have to keep an alt in a specific NPC faction just to be able to produce something (drugs)
- no updates, no changelogs
- no reason to roleplay in MMORPG game (roleplay? which alt?)
Hardcore:
Love : PvP, russians, very big guns, thiefs , bombers, blubber, total madness
Hate : guys who cry and then say" i hate thiefs/PK/blubber/bombers"
John Hancock:
I'm pretty new, but so far:
Love: It's an online version of Fallout. It's pretty entertaining for what it is, with a lot of interesting features. Persistent player housing and gang bases are awesome.
Hate: The developers are moving towards 3D models. For me, a lot of the charm of this game comes from the old-school, clay-modeled sprites I remember from 1997. I think they still look good to this day. I suspect it's difficult to make new ones just like them, though, without a team of professional artists.
